Eager to play the game, the Obama Administration pulled out of Iraq in time for Christmas as it welcomed Iran’s puppets into the Oval Office. The Iraqi delegation, headed by Nouri al-Maliki, included a conspirator in Iran’s terror campaigns—the Iraqi Minister of Transportation, Hadi al-Ameri.

The events that unfolded yesterday, taken in view of prophecy and connecting the dots could be telling us that New York City could have reference to the Babylon of Revelation 18.
Revelation 18:1-8 (KJV)
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

Connecting the Dots -- When these thing mentioned above happen, there are always theories and reasons given as to why they are happening. if you have an Earthquake monitor, within any given hour you could have over fifty earthquakes happening somewhere around the world. The interesting part of this is they are happening at divers places as Matthew said would happen. We are in the birth pains, and they are getting more frequent and closer than ever before. Is this just a coincidence?
From where I set, it sure is looking like “a good day to fly.”

The Time of Jacob's Trouble

As we look around us, we realize that the times we are living are not like any other before. Could we be nearing "the time of Jacob's trouble."

"The time of Jacob's trouble" is a quote from Jeremiah 30:7 which says, "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it" (KJV).

In verses 3 & 4 of Jeremiah 30, we find that the Lord is speaking to the prophet and promises that one day in the future, He will bring both Judah and Israel back to the land that He had promised their forefathers. Verse 5 describes a time of great fear and trembling. Verse 6 describes this time in a way that pictures men going through the pains of childbirth, again indicating a time of fear and pain. But there is hope for Judah and Israel, for the Lord promises He will save Jacob out of this time of great distress (30:7).

In Jeremiah 30:10-11, the Lord says, “‘I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid. I am with you and will save you,’ declares the LORD.”

The Lord says He will destroy the nations who held Judah and Israel in captivity, but will not destroy Jacob completely. Our Lord describes that time as a time of discipline for Jacob. He says of Jacob, “Though I completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only with justice; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.”

It also says "that day is great, so that none is like it.” This best fits the description of the period of the tribulation. This is an unparalleled time; there will never be another like it. Jeremiah 30:6 depicts a man going through the pains of childbirth. This is paralleled by other passages that liken the tribulation to birth pains.

In Matthew 24:6-8, Jesus stated that the appearance of false christs, wars and rumors of wars, famines, and earthquakes are "the beginning of birth pains." We know this will be during the first half of the tribulation because the appearance of the beast/antichrist occurs at the midpoint of the tribulation (Matthew 24:15; Daniel 9:27; Revelation 13).

Paul also described the tribulation as birth pains in 1 Thessalonians 5:3, "While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." This event follows the rapture and the removal of the Church, in 4:13-18. In 5:9, Paul reemphasizes the absence of the Church from this time period by saying, "For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." The wrath spoken of here is God's judgment on the unbelieving world and His discipline of Israel during the tribulation.

These birth pains are described in detail in Revelation 6-12, birth pains which are the Lord's discipline designed to bring Israel back to Him.

For those who have received Christ as Savior from sin, the time of Jacob's trouble is something for which we should praise the Lord, for it is His demonstrating that He keeps His promises. Just as He has promised us eternal life through Christ our Lord, He also will fulfill His promises of land, seed, and blessing that He made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the form of covenants by giving those things to their physical descendants. But before He fulfills these promises, He will lovingly but firmly discipline the nation so that they return to Him.

Same Sex Marriage

After same-sex marriage becomes legal in New york on July 24, gay priests with partners in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island will head to the altar. They have to. Their bishop set a nine-month deadline for them to marry or stop living together.

Next door, meanwhile, the Episcopal bishop of New York says he also expects gay clergy in committed relationships to wed "in due course." Still, this longtime supporter of gay rights says churches in his diocese are off limits for gay weddings until he receives clearer liturgical guidance from the national denomination.

As more states legalize same-sex marriage, religious groups with ambiguous policies on homosexuality are divided over whether they should allow the ceremonies in local congregations.

The decision is especially complex in the mainline Protestant denominations that have yet to fully resolve their disagreements over the Bible and homosexuality. Many have taken steps toward acceptance of gay ordination and same-gender couples without changing the official definition of marriage in church constitutions and canons.

With the exception of the United Church of Christ, which approved gay marriage six years ago, none of the larger mainline churches has a national liturgy for same-sex weddings or even blessing ceremonies.

Our Greatest Evils As A Nation

There is no doubt, no matter how you look at things, we are living in a time like none other. To think other wise is burying your head in the sand and hoping you are in a dream of some kind.

As I look around I wonder what is the greatest evil we have to confront as a nation?

Some evils are with us for so long they become part of our decaying and—to people who see it for the first time—ghastly cultural furniture. The more we hear about same-sex marriage and the more we see same-sex couples kissing and marrying on the news, seem to find peace with a political settlement on the matter.

We are now at 38 years of nationally legalized abortions. Since the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, our laws have sanctioned the killing of over 50 million people. The test of any society is surely how it treats its weakest members. Babies in the womb—the faceless, the nameless, and the most completely dependent on the care of others—are surely the touchstones of our selfishness or our decency.

Could it be that there are two great threats to America: abortion and the breakdown of marriage.

There is no denying the family is the foundation of society. By it, we form the next generation into citizens or criminals, social assets or social liabilities. There is no substitute for this “little platoon.” But we are working it away, entertaining it away, defining it away. The American family is suffering a thousand cuts from every direction—from tax policy to divorce law.
We have an urgency to identify the bloody stain of abortion and the faltering of our families as serious threats that are in every way comparable to the curse of slavery in the 1860s and the threat of Japanese invasion in the 1940s. (Thankfully, abortions have been declining since their peak in 1990, but we still lose 1.2 million children a year.)

We must strengthen and protect marriage and family with as much tenaciously as we now protect waterways and wildlife.

Can we pull ourselves out of this mess? Perhaps we will. But we will not do it as long as we continue to turn our back towards God. A nation is fundamentally a moral community. If we do not take proper care of our children, both in and out of the womb, there may not be a country to live in that we recognize as America.

The words “mother” and “father” will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, the State Department says“

The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father,’” said Brenda Sprague, deputy assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services. "They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’"

A statement on the State Department website noted: “These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.” The statement didn't note if it was for child applications only.

Only in the topsy-turvy world of left-wing political correctness could it be considered an ‘improvement’ for a birth-related document to provide less information about the circumstances of that birth,” Family Research Council president Tony Perkins wrote in a statement to Fox News Radio. “This is clearly designed to advance the causes of same-sex ‘marriage’ and homosexual parenting without statutory authority, and violates the spirit if not the letter of the Defense of Marriage Act.”
Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, agreed. “It’s part of an overall attempt at political correctness to diminish the distinction between men and women and to somehow suggest you don’t need both a father and a mother to raise a child successfully,” said Jeffress. “(This decision) was made to make homosexual couples feel more comfortable in rearing children.”

Another note of concern:
Set to premiere Monday, January 17 at 9:00 p.m. Central/Mountain, MTV’s new sex-and-drug dramaSkins promises to be one of the most explicit series on basic cable…and MTV is sparing no measure in promoting the show to teenagers. ► more

Although there is some 'good news' this week:
Sirius/XM satellite radio is one of the many features offered by Ford in its cars…but some programming, like Playboy Radio and Howard Stern’s sexually graphic talk show, is not appropriate for minors. Now, the auto maker is allowing parents to block explicit content from teens with its MyKey system. The new feature will debut later this year as standard equipment on the Ford Taurus and Ford Explorer and will eventually be available in most Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

This is merely the most recent demonstration of Ford’s responsible corporate behavior. The company has consistently sponsored family-friendly television programming, while avoiding offensive shows. In 2008, Ford not only refused to sponsor the CBS sex orgy show Swingtown – it actually warned its dealerships to avoid the program. Ford’s consistent application of high standards regarding the entertainment it sponsors placed them on the PTC’s list of Top Ten TV Advertisers in 2010. The PTC thanks Ford for its choices in favor of decent entertainment. ►more

Nazism and Islam: Two peas in a pod

Nazism and Islam share common values and, more importantly, a common enemy in the Jews, World War II-era Palestinian Arab leader Haj Amin al-Husseini is cited as telling his German benefactors in the latest survey of declassified US wartime documents.

Prepared by the UN National Archives, the report titled “Hitler’s Shadow” references thousands of declassified intelligence and diplomatic reports in detailing Husseini’s active cooperation with the Nazi leadership in its quest to rid the world of the Jewish people.

According to the report, Husseini was paid an enormous salary for fomenting hatred of the Jews in “Palestine” and for helping to recruit Muslims as Nazi soldiers. His contract with the Nazis also promised Husseini rulership over Palestine at the successful conclusion of the war.

One document cites Adolf Hitler as telling Husseini that Nazi Germany’s only aim in conquering Palestine was to eradicate the Jewish presence there. After that, the country would be Husseini’s to rule as he saw fit.
During a later recruitment trip to a Muslim-dominated part of Croatia, Husseini praised new Muslim recruits to the Nazi military, and stated that “the entire Muslim world ought to follow their example.”

Amazingly, or perhaps no so amazingly, as the war came to a close and it was clear the Nazis were going to lose, the British authorities in the Middle East were actually open to letting Husseini return and lead the Palestinian Arabs there.

One of the diplomatic cables has the British head of Mandatory Palestine’s Criminal Investigation Division telling the US assistant military attache in Cairo that Husseini could unite the regions Arabs and “cool off the Zionists. Of course, we can’t do it, but it might not be such a damn bad idea at that.”

The report concludes by noting that despite the mountain of evidence against him, the Allied powers allowed Husseini to flee to Syria after the war and did not pursue a criminal investigation. Husseini died in Beirut in 1974 as a hero among his people.

The international community’s lenient treatment of Husseini even though he had openly collaborated with modern history’s most brutal and criminal dictatorship was again repeated when the world decided to take the most blood-soaked terrorist in history, Yasser Arafat, and reward him by making him a head of state.

It sure looks like a “Good Day to Fly”.

Have we quit thinking?

Adolf Hitler had it right when he said, "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."

Dr. Thomas Sowell, in "Dismantling America," said in reference to President Obama, "That such an administration could be elected in the first place, headed by a man whose only qualifications to be president of the United States at a dangerous time in the history of the world were rhetoric, style and symbolism – and whose animus against the values and institutions of America had been demonstrated repeatedly over a period of decades beforehand – speaks volumes about the inadequacies of our educational system and the degeneration of our culture."

Obama is by no means unique; his characteristics are shared by other Americans, but what is unique is that no other time in our history would such a person been elected president. That says a lot about the degeneration of our culture, values, thinking abilities and acceptance of what's no less than tyranny. As Sowell says, "Barack Obama is unlike any other president of the United States in having come from a background of decades of associations and alliances with people who resent this country and its people." In 2008, Americans voted for Obama's change. Let's look at some of it.

Our society has become one who let others think for them. Have you noticed that those who seem to be doing the thinking, are now telling us how we are to live, and because they feel that certain things that we have done for many years are offensive to them [Nativity scenes, Christmas, ten commandments, prayer, etc.] that they can have it removed from our society.

What we are seeing is exactly what happened in Germany with Hitler, only this time, I believe that we are seeing the beginning of the end, as related to this world’s system, and the Rapture of the Church and the tribulation period.

This sure would be a “Good day to fly” !

A Christian Perspective on Islam

For some time, I have been thinking about President Obama's speech to the Turkish parliament after he had taken office as President. He declared: “The United States is not, and never will be, at war with Islam.” He went on to say that “our partnership with the Muslim world is critical not just in rolling back the violent ideologies that people of all faiths reject, but also to strengthen opportunity for all its people.”

The President also spoke of his “deep appreciation for the Islamic faith.” Here is the statement in context: "I also want to be clear that America’s relationship with the Muslim community, the Muslim world, cannot, and will not, just be based upon opposition to terrorism. We seek broader engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect. We will listen carefully, we will bridge misunderstandings, and we will seek common ground. We will be respectful, even when we do not agree. We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country. The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country — I know, because I am one of them."
In light of all of this, what is the true nature of the threat civilization now faces from radical Islam? Foreign policy analyst Tony Corn bravely addresses that question in “World War IV As Fourth-Generation Warfare,” published in an issue of Policy Review. Corn explains the struggle in terms of a conflict within Islam itself: The challenge confronting the West today is at once less than a full-fledged clash of civilizations and more than some unspecified war on terrorism: It is first and foremost an insurgency within Islam, which began in earnest in 1979, and for which the West remained, at least until 2001, a secondary theater of operations.From 1979 on, the revolution in Iran, the invasion of Afghanistan, the re-Islamization from above in Pakistan, the surge of Saudi activism in the Broader Middle East and the concurrent marginalization of Egypt within the Arab world (following the Camp David accords) combined to give birth to a qualitative and quantitative change of paradigm whereby pan-Arabism — the main movement in the Middle East since 1945 — was supplanted by pan-Islamism.

Thus: The West is at war with a new totalitarianism for which terrorism is one technique or tactic among many. .While specific forms of government vary in the Islamic world, this general understanding holds true. Unlike New Testament Christianity, Islam is essentially a territorial religion including all lands under submission to the rule of the Qur’an. Furthermore, if the United States is to be understood as a Christian nation in the same sense that most nations in the Islamic world consider themselves to be Muslim nations, then America is at war with Islam.

We do face a great civilizational challenge in Islam. Islam is, in effect, the single most vital competitor to Western ideals of civilization on the world scene. The logic of Islam is to bring every square inch of this planet under submission to the rule of the Qur’an. Classical Islam divides the world into the “World of Islam” and the “World of War.” In this latter world the struggle to bring the society under submission to the Qur’an is still ongoing.

This ambition drives the Muslim world — and each faithful Muslim — to hope, pray, and work for the submission of the whole world to the Qur’an. Clearly, most Muslims are not willing to employ terrorism in order to achieve this goal. Nevertheless, it remains the goal.

Islam and the West offer two very different and fundamentally irreconcilable visions of society. While we are certainly not a nation at war with Islam, we are a nation that faces a huge challenge from the Islamic world — a challenge that includes terrorism, but also a much larger civilizational ambition that remains central. Anyone standing in Istanbul, the historic seat of Ottoman power, should certainly recognize that fact.

As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and a minister of the Gospel, my primary concern about Islam is not civilizational or geopolitical, but theological. I believe that Jesus Christ is indeed, “the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” and that no one comes to the Father but by Him [John 14:6]. Salvation is found only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Gospel of Christ is the only message that saves.

I can agree with President Obama that Islam has produced cultural wonders, but I have to see it more fundamentally as a belief system that is taking millions upon millions of persons spiritually captive — leaving them under the curse of sin and without hope of salvation.

For Christians, regardless of nationality, this is the great challenge that should be our urgent concern. Our concern is not mainly political, but theological and spiritual. And, all things considered, Islam almost surely represents the greatest challenge to Christian evangelism of our times.

Where are the men who fear God

In listening to the news lately, there seems to be the feeling that we are in for a change this November, and some even think that there will be a turn around and the House and Senate will come back under Republican control, and the failed policies will be repelled.

But if the last several administrations is any indicator, there is not much difference from one another--they support the same things.

The coming November election will not cure, nor even begin to cure, the $14 trillion debt that Congress and the White House have run up in my name, my children’s name and my grandchildren’s name.

Any move from the socialists agenda that has been going on for the last 40 years, but more prevalent in this administration, is not going to happen over night, or in one election. And it may very well not change at all, because of the fact of the rapture and tribulation period, spoken of in God’s Word, is very near!

Christians across the land must understand that the nation is not in the shape it is in because of politicians. It is in this degraded condition because of the people who elect the politicians. In this country, we have a choice of our rulers, and as Christians we should be choosing candidates that align with God’s word. Trouble is, the two party system that has become the norm, often chooses candidates that are so similar that many voters are placed in the precarious position of choosing between what we call “the lessor of two evils.” This is why we must get involved at the local level. Get involved by becoming members of the central committees of the parties and have a say in the candidate selection process.

We also must get active about the judiciary and legal process. St. Augustine once wrote that an unjust law is no law at all. How many laws do we need? How many laws are unjust? How many judges are unjust? A law is unjust when it does not match up with the laws of God. America’s system of government was derived from the system put in place during the Exodus from Egypt. Genesis 18:21 describes the system: “Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rules of tens.”

This was the organizational principle on which the entire government of the United States was predicated. We see in this system of representation how the Founding Fathers established the forms of government from federal-- Executive, Judicial and Legislative bodies-- to the state and the local systems of government. There was a requirement, however, in administering these laws. Those in leadership positions needed to be “able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness.” In other words, moral and Godly people were to be in charge of administering the laws.

This is where we have failed in our personal walk with God, in not ensuring the character and quality of our lawmakers.
We must begin again now. It may become too late if we “continue to halt between two opinions just to be politically correct!

The Lesson of Secretariat

An interesting article came to my e-mail from Wallid Shobat this week that needs to be read, and passed on.What has the new

Disney movie about the Triple Crown winning racehorse Secretariat got to do with the ideals of America and lessons that can be learnt from this great accomplishment? Much can be, now let me explain.

We are witnessing right in front of our eyes the melting down of our country, the huge debts we are incurring, and the irresponsibility of our leaders, the bailouts, the removal of our freedoms because of so called fairness and the obfuscation of personal and government responsibility.

America was born out of a dream, innovation and an ideal of freedom that was achieved through grit and determination, even when the chips were stacked against its leaders and people. Today the American dream and psyche is deeply wounded, the innovating spirit is handicapped by a generation of an entitlement mentality. The chips are down and we need to shake ourselves out of this stupor.

On November 4, 2008 we chose as a nation to sell out on our fighting spirit as a winning nation, even the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi thinks that “food stamps is the biggest bang for the buck,” is this what our country has become?

The founders believed in freedom but they also believed in something else, just as important and that was winning. For over seven years the colonists fought hard and against tremendous odds to win their independence and freedom from tyranny. Most of the founding leaders were not experienced warriors; they were farmers, professionals and merchants but they were determined to be free. They were willing to follow their dream and willing to sacrifice and allow the chips to fall were they lay. They gave their lives and their fortunes for that freedom and they won despite the odds. Just imagine today declaring war on the greatest super power with an inexperienced army, little resources but just the courage and tenacity to prevail.

Why today do we as a country have such an entitlement mentality? Why is our faith in our own abilities to face challenges been reduced to corporate and personal handouts? We need to hang our heads in shame; this is not America I emigrated to 20 years ago.

The owner of Secretariat, Penny Tweedy Chenery ironically was crippled by a six million dollar inheritance tax after she and her brother were left the horse farm by their father. The inheritance also included the mare that fouled Secretariat. Ms Chenery wished to continue the legacy of her parents and her dream to train a winning horse yet was left with a huge tax bill and no money to pay the IRS. The IRS death tax in itself is a crime against the American people but that is for a different article another time. Ms Chanery used her determination and innovation to sell a syndicate on the breeding rights of the untested horse with a performance clause that would have lost the ownership of the horse and possibly the farm. This she did just to give her the opportunity to have Secretariat compete in the three great races that comprise the legendary and elusive Triple Crown. Penny Tweedy Chenery could have easily taken the easy root, sold the farm, paid the taxes and be left in financial security for life.

Ms Chanery was a housewife with no experience in the horse racing business but she had a dream and wished to continue the great tradition of her family. For her it was not about a comfortable time with an easy bailout it was about fulfilling a dream, freedom and winning. If she could not win on her own terms then she would be satisfied where the chips lay. Her gritty determination gave her the shot at her dream. We all know now how everything turned out.

On Nov 2nd 2010 when we go to the polling stations we need to appreciate not just the freedoms that the founding fathers created for us but we need to return to becoming a proud and winning nation once again. When we cast that vote we also need to understand how each one of us can become winners or improve our performance in our chosen profession, we need to sacrifice with a goal to win. The way forward will be challenging but that makes the satisfaction of winning even greater.
Winning for oneself is also winning for our country and having self-interest provides others with jobs, a purpose and opportunities. Winning is creating conditions so we can all follow our dreams and having leaders who understand this ideal. Winning is allowing individuals to be able to make decisions for themselves and not be made for them by government bureaucrats. Winning is an American tradition, that is why America was great and that why it will be great again starting on midnight Nov 2nd when the winning American spirit will return from the folly of the phony slogan from the presidential campaign of 2008 of “Hope and Change.” Maybe a better slogan for this election is “American Freedom is for Winners.”

The American people are about to put us back on the right track. Thank you Disney for making the movie Secretariat, which showed me what the real ingredients needed to restore a once again great America. Our National anthem says we are the land of the free and the home of the brave; on Nov 2nd let us restore who we are.

Would you have ever thought that in your life time, we would live to see our country, America, turn it's back on Israel and "throw them under the bus." But that is exactly what is happening today with the current administration.

This past week, Russia and Iran flaunted the start-up of Iran's first nuclear reactor in the faces of both America and Israel, and for all practical purposes, it showed how Russia will be a major player during the Tribulation period.

It is believed that Israel has revived its military option against Iran - especially since Iran activated the nuclear reactor at Bushehr on Aug. 21. I This may put the Obama administration under enormous pressure. This may also be why Obama sent the representatives to Jerusalem to try and check if an Israeli attack could be in the making.

If you read Jeremiah 49:38 about Elam, you might understand the strategic importance of this location and End Time Prophecy. We have to realize it's not just about a nuclear reactor in a country that wants to destroy Israel off the face of the earth, although that is pretty big.

It is all about what God Himself is about to do. And that seem to be what everybody is missing.

Zechariah 12:9:(KJV) And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 49:38 (KJV) And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.

Elam is an ancient geographical location mentioned in the Bible. Today its location would be mainly in Iran with a small section in Iraq. It bordered with the ancient Babylonian Empire. The actual location of Elam would be the very northern end of the Persian Gulf and down along with the west coast of Iran.

Today one of main sections of ancient Elam would include Bushehr Province with the capital city of Bushehr. On a map of the Persian Gulf, Bushehr would be directly across from Kuwait.Bushehr is very important today because it is the location of Iran’s nuclear facility and has the attention of the world. Thus, the physical location of ancient Elam is critical today.

Elam was listed with the nations that assisted the Assyrians and Babylonians in their attacks against Jerusalem. The prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel all write blistering judgments against Elam.

The Prophet Jeremiah speaks the most about Elam, as he describes a severe judgment against Elam. In very powerful language God describes His fierce anger and judgment against Elam. The judgment against Elam is very intense with language that is only found in these verses. These verses are found in Jeremiah 49:34,35.

The context of Jeremiah 49 is judgment on nations that will be fulfilled during the Day of the LORD. The judgment against Elam was not fulfilled but will be in the future. The prophecy speaks of the people being driven off the land and scattered into all the world. This has never happened in recorded history. It also speaks of the God of Israel setting His throne in Elam. This has never happened. This is all future because this prophecy was never fulfilled. It appears that with Elam now the focus of world attention, God is about to fulfill it.

According to Obadiah 1:15, God judges nations in relation to what that nation does to Israel. The judgment as recorded in Jeremiah 49 indicates that Elam was a fierce enemy of Israel. It participated in two attacks on Jerusalem. Elam was with the Assyrians and assisted the Babylons in their attacks on Jerusalem. Now, Israel is once again a nation and ancient Elam/Iran is again trying to destroy Israel and capture Jerusalem. Iran wants to destroy Israel and drive the Jews into the entire world; therefore, Elam is going to be destroyed and the people scattered into the nations.

Right now Elam/Iran is a fierce enemy of Israel and wants to wipe Israel off the map. Literally, a nuclear reactor sits in Elam for the purpose of destroying Israel. Elam is Israel’s most dangerous enemy.

Elam/Iran is also the center of Shiite Islam which wants to conquer the world for Allah. It is the center of belief in the Mahdi who the Shiite Muslims believe will lead Islam to conquer the world. Elam can be viewed as the number one enemy of the God of Israel. Shiite Islam led by Elam/Iran is about to violently collide with God's End-Time prophetic plan as stated in the Bible.
Jeremiah records in verse 35 that God is going to break the bow of Elam which means its military power. In verse 36, the prophet states,

"And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven..." This is the first time the term "Four winds" is used in the Bible. Later the Prophet Daniel uses this expression . It means fierce judgment. God is going to bring judgment from every angle and drive them off the land. A special judgment is decreed against Elam.

In verse 38, God is going to set His throne in Elam. This is an astonishing verse! This is the only nation other than Israel, where God states He is going to set His throne! It is clear from many scriptures that God is going to set His throne in His Holy Temple in Jerusalem. It appears that this verse is indicating that God's authority will be over Elam.
Right now Islam is the authority over Elam as Iran is the center of militant Islam and the promotion of the Mahdi to rule the world. Is God singling out Elam because it is the center of Islam's attempt to destroy Israel and take over the world? This verse shows that Islam will be broken and the nation that wanted the Mahdi to conquer the world will be under the authority of the God of Israel.

In verse 39, Jeremiah wrote that in the "Latter-Day" God would bring the people back to Elam. This means that during the reign of the Lord Jesus, God is going to show His mercy and bring the Elam/Iranians back into the land.

Awesome events are about to break over Elam. They have a nuclear reactor and are making plans to destroy Israel. Elam is preparing for the Mahdi and world conquest. The prophecy recorded in Jeremiah 49:34-39 is waiting to be fulfilled. It appears the time to judge Elam/Iran and Islam is at hand. The throne of the Lord Jesus will be over Elam.

Obama's Faith?

Again, much is being said and asked of exactly what is Obama’s faith.

This morning on Fox news, there was a segment concerning this very topic. The general thought of the discussion was that he doesn’t say what his faith really is. Or does he?

Last year in Egypt, he is quoted as saying he is Christian, and at the same time talked of his muslim heritage. He has also stated that our nation is no longer a Christian nation.

So, I guess the question would still be, what exactly is he?

The White House insisted on Thursday that President Barack Obama is a Christian who prays daily.

White House spokesman Bill Burton made the remarks hours after a poll showed that nearly one in five people, or 18 percent, said they think Obama is Muslim. That was up from 11 percent who said so in March 2009. The survey also showed that just 34 percent said Obama is Christian, down from 48 percent who said so last year. The largest share of people, 43 percent, said they don't know his religion.

As Obama headed out for a vacation, Burton told reporters aboard Air Force One that most Americans care more about the economy and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and "they are not reading a lot of news about what religion the president is."

Burton added, "The president is obviously a Christian. He prays everyday."

I wonder what Burton is smoking, because praying everyday doesn’t make one a Christian any more than sleeping in a garage makes one a car. It just don’t work that way!

When I think about this, my first thought would be that you cannot be a Christian and hold to the muslim belief at the same time, because the two concepts are diametrically opposed to each other.

This year, he would not have the White House involved in the National Day of Prayer. Yet this past week, he hosted a dinner in honor of Ramadan, and said that the muslin’s have the right to build a mosque near ground zero in New York City.

Maybe, just maybe, he is telling us what his faith is. Could it be that we are not listening? Like we are not listening to Yahweh?

It sure is “a good day to fly.”

Legal Challenges to Prayer on the Rise

Arizona school children are told they can't pray in front of the Supreme Court building ... Two University of Texas Arlington employees are fired for praying over a co-worker's cubicle after work hours ... In Cranston, R.I., a high school banner causes controversy when a parent complains it contains a prayer and demands that it be removed.
There are more legal challenges to prayer in the United States than ever before, says Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-founder of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist organization whose business is booming as Americans increasingly tackle church vs. state issues.
"We've never had more complaints about government prayer," Gaylor says. "We have just hired a second staff attorney in July. It's turned into a cottage industry for our attorneys."
The foundation has had a huge volume of complaints about prayer in the public sector, including numerous issues involving civic and government meetings where sessions have traditionally begun with a prayer or moment of silence.
In Augusta, Ga., the city's law department just issued a legal opinion defending the city's practice of a pre-meeting prayer, saying it does not violate federal law. The statement was in response to the Freedom From Religion Foundation's letter to the mayor's office urging him to stop the invocations at the start of meetings. The foundation sent similar letters to three cities in South Carolina.
"These are flagrant violations of the laws," Gaylor says.
Not so, says Nate Kellum, an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund, which is representing the Arizona school children and their teacher, Maureen Rigo, who say they were told they couldn't pray on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington.
"Religious liberties are under attack across the country," Kellum says. "My sense is that there's some type of knee-jerk reaction, almost an allergic reaction, if someone sees the expression of religion," he says.
And the bulk of the complaints are directed at Christians, he says.
"There's an overreaching presumption that there's something wrong," he says.
But Gaylor says there's no country in the world where religion flourishes as much as in the United States, and she says conflicts over public expression are going to increase.
"Fifteen percent of the people are not religious," she says. "There's an increasing plurality of faiths. It's inevitable there's going to be this clash with more people being offended."
Kelly Shackelford, president of the Liberty Institute, represents the two University of Texas employees who were fired for praying over a co-worker's desk after hours. The co-worker was not there at the time and didn't know until months later why the employees were fired.
The university, in legal documents, said it the employee's prayer had been deemed harassment. Judge Terry Means of the U.S. Federal District Court in Ft. Worth rejected that argument.
"One of the women just said 'amen' while the other prayed," Shackelford said. "So she was fired for just saying 'amen.'"
"It's just so crazy!" he said. "There's a hostility, and there are folks who want to change this country and want to engage in some kind of religious cleansing."
Shackelford is also part of the legal team that filed a brief on Thursday defending the National Day of Prayer, which a federal judge ruled unconstitutional in April. Though the Justice Department announced one week later that it planned to appeal the judge's ruling, and despite President Obama's proclamation of National Prayer Day the next month, the Liberty Institute along with the Family Research Council took legal action because of what they claim is "the Obama Administration's weak defense of the NDP."
The council's president, Tony Perkins, issued a statement saying, "The President's attorneys failed to cite any of the key cases that would require immediate dismissal of this lawsuit because the plaintiffs lack standing to bring it. FRC plans to mount a robust defense of this important national event that a liberal judge has attempted to scrub from the public square."
Shackelford says, "The thing that makes [America] unique is that we believe our freedoms don't come from government, they come from God."
But it's exactly beliefs about God that form the core of the legal conflicts, and will continue to do so -- because whether people believe in God is something no court can have jurisdiction over.

The largest earthquake ever recorded near the capital rattled Washington, D.C., early Friday, waking many residents but causing no reported damage.

Amy Vaughan, a geophysicist with the USGS, said the quake was the largest recorded within about 45 miles of Germantown since a database was created to track such activity in 1974. The largest earthquake before Friday morning's was a 2.7 tremor in 1993, Vaughan said. There was a 2.6 magnitude tremor in 1990 and quakes measuring 2.5 in 1997, 1993 and 1974.

"It’s not something that’s completely out of the ordinary," Vaughan said, “but at the same time, quakes measuring above 3 are extremely rare in this area.” Vaughan said the number of people reporting the quake to the USGS highlighted how unusual it seemed to residents of the mid-Atlantic states.

During this same time, U.S. envoy George Mitchell was in Israel, shuttling between Ramallah and Jerusalem for separate rounds of talks with Abbas and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mitchell has been moderating the proximity talks between the two sides for the last two months.

Countering the new US energy sanctions against Iran, Russian and Iranian ministers Wednesday, July 14 signed energy-related agreements, including sales to Iran of Russian petroleum products and petrochemicals.

A heat wave of historic proportions could strike some Northeastern states as forecasters warn of prolonged triple-digit temperatures that could trigger "a dangerous situation," the National Weather Service advised Monday.

The Weather Service has issued an excessive heat advisory for several Northeastern cities to take effect Monday afternoon as humidity levels gradually increase, producing heat index values to persist and surpass 100 degrees.

Excessive heat advisories have been issued for the Philadelphia metropolitan area until Wednesday evening, and in New York City, a heat advisory is in effect from to 2 p.m. Monday until 6 p.m. Tuesday as high humidity levels and high temperatures linger for two consecutive days, the Weather Service reported.

As Israel's prime minister prepares for his fifth official meeting with President Obama this week, the White House has declined to publicly affirm commitments made by President Bush to Israel in 2004 on the final borders of the Jewish state.

The interpretation of a 2004 letter from Mr. Bush to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has been a source of tension between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mr. Obama.

Mr. Netanyahu is expected in the meeting on Tuesday to discuss both the prospects for direct talks with the Palestinians and whether he will renew a 10-month freeze of new settlement construction on the West Bank. Both leaders are also looking to improve the negative atmosphere of the U.S.-Israeli relationship in the past year.

For some reason, we tend to forget what God says about Israel concerning those who bless and those who curse them.

We have seen it in the Presbyterians and their stand against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and now the news of the Methodists in the UK. The Methodist Church of Britain voted on Wednesday to boycott Israeli-produced goods and services from the West Bank because of Israel’s “illegal occupation of Palestinian lands.” “A majority of governments recognize the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories as illegitimate under international law,” the church body said at its annual conference in Portsmouth. The church body will now encourage Methodists across the UK to follow suit. The motion stated that the boycott of goods “from illegal Israeli settlements” was in response to a call by the World Council of Churches – which advocates divestment from Israel – and by Palestinian civil society and “a growing number of Jewish organizations in Israel and worldwide.”

In a powerful article in the Times of London, Jose Maria Aznar, the President of Spain from 1996-2004) provides a rousing and eloquent defense of the State of Israel. Aznar also uses this opportunity to announce the launch of his new organization "Friends of Israel" composed primarily on non-Jewish Europeans and Americans. President Aznar is to be applauded for standing up for Israel, standing up for what is right.

Israel is standing alone, as we might see it, although God is still in control and knows exactly what is happening.
And, as we watch the news, something is definitely happening.
Warships from the Russian Pacific Fleet started on Thursday a series of anti-submarine warfare drills in the Sea of Japan as part of the Vostok-2010 strategic exercises in Russia's Far East.

"Ships and aircraft from the Pacific Fleet are practicing anti-submarine search-and-destroy missions to ensure favorable operational conditions in the Primorye joint task force's zone of control," said Capt. 1st Rank Roman Martov, a spokesman for the Pacific Fleet.

The Russian Armed Forces started on Tuesday large-scale Vostok-2010 military exercises in Siberia and the country's Far East. The drills, which involve at least 20,000 troops, up to 70 warplanes and 30 warships, will continue through July 8.

The news about our warships last week is quieted this week so far, but it is making for “a good day to fly!”

The armada of 10 US warships plus an Israeli and German battle vessel each, which transited the Suez Canal Friday, June 18, has reached the Persian Gulf, DEBKAfile's military sources report.
 But first, from June 6 through June 10, the USS Harry S. Truman carrier Strike Group was deployed 50 miles off the shore of southwestern Israel, secretly drilling the interception of incoming Iranian, Syrian and Hizballah missiles and rockets against US and Israeli targets in the Middle East.
 This was first revealed by DEBKA-Net-Weekly 449 on June 18.
The fleet let by the Truman then headed for the Persian Gulf through the Suez Canal accompanied by an Israeli missile ship (not identified) and the German missile frigate FGS Hessen F221.

For five days and night, the Truman's sixty F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter bombers took off on simulated bombing missions against targets set up by the Israeli Air Force at its firing range on the Nevatim Base-28, in the Negev desert southeast of Be'er Sheva - one of its three big air bases.

I believe there is definitely something beginning to happen.

The man handpicked by President Obama to rescue the flagging American war effort in Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus, must wage a critical battle on two fronts: Taking on the Taliban while quelling bureaucratic rivalries in Washington that present a serious threat to military morale.   The Pentagon brass joined with members of Congress in universally condemning ousted Gen. Stanley McChrystal's sharp criticisms of his civilian superiors, which led to his forced resignation. The choice of Petraeus also received widespread bipartisan approval on Capitol Hill.   But several military experts and commentators say disenchantment with how the administration is fighting the Afghanistan war transcends the loose-lipped McChrystal.  Support for Obama among front-line soldiers and officers has dropped precipitously, according to military journalist, author, and former Special Forces soldier Michael Yon.  Several analysts believe the McChrystal run-in reflects a growing distance between the Obama administration and some in the military. In part the friction appears to stem from infighting among Obama's own advisers.
On the home front, A US Senate committee has approved a wide-ranging cybersecurity bill that some critics have suggested would give the US president the authority to shut down parts of the Internet during a cyberattack.

Senator Joe Lieberman and other bill sponsors have refuted the charges that the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act gives the president an Internet "kill switch." Instead, the bill puts limits on the powers the president already has to cause "the closing of any facility or stations for wire communication" in a time of war, as described in the Communications Act of 1934, they said in a breakdown of the bill published on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee website.

Every day we see this scripture being fulfilled before our very eyes. I have been reading various articles about the sun spots and how they are going to impact our lives.

According to those who are suppose to know, the Iceland volcano was affected by major Sunspot Cycles that will occur from 2010 to 2015, which will intensify volcanoes, earthquakes, super storms and disrupt satelliteIs.

Eric Hadik, an earth cycle expert, wrote that the Sun shifts polarity during each sunspot cycle hellip; with seven to ten volcanoes expected to erupt in the next five years. Moreover, these numbers could increase with an even higher number of sunspots.
Articles from Wired Magazine: 'The 2012 apocalypse' and the National Academy of Sciences have stated that if the great geomagnetic storm of 1859 occurred during a solar cycle of about the same size predicted for 2013, it could cause $1 to 2 trillion in damages to society's high-tech infrastructure.
We are in the beginning of a major record setting Sunspot Cycle that will increase in intensity periodically up to and into 2015. Eric said the period from 2012 to 2014 may likely be the most intense period of sunspots. These will affect the intensity and frequency of volcanoes, earthquakes, super storms, and disrupt satellites and technologies on earth.
There is actually a very good reason for this 22-year sunspot cycle.
The unique thing about the sun is that it shifts polarity during each sunspot cycle. In effect, what was north becomes south and what was south becomes north (this is evident in the magnetic polarity of the actual sunspots and solar storms).
So, it takes two of these 11-year cycles for the sun to return to a similar polar position.
The more we see and hear, the more we realize that it would be “a good day to fly.”

Times, They Are A Changing

US defense secretary Robert Gates reported Thursday, June 17 that the US had overhauled its missile defense plans following intelligence that Iran could fire "scores or hundreds" of short- and medium-range missiles against Europe -in salvoes rather than one or two at a time. The new US program, designed to protect NATO allies, uses sea and land-based interceptors. He did not mention Israel, but these figures mean it has fallen back sharply in the regional balance of strength, even before adding on the thousands of Hizballah rockets.

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said the U.S. may soon face higher borrowing costs on its swelling debt and called for a “tectonic shift” in fiscal policy to contain borrowing.

“Perceptions of a large U.S. borrowing capacity are misleading,” and current long-term bond yields are masking America’s debt challenge, Greenspan wrote in an opinion piece posted on the Wall Street Journal’s website. “Long-term rate increases can emerge with unexpected suddenness,” such as the 4 percentage point surge over four months in 1979-80, he said.

Turkey will lead a campaign for a worldwide boycott of Israel. Wednesday, Ankara cancelled 16 contracts covering military and intelligence cooperation.

Israel has countered by declaring the IHH a terrorist entity, exposing this bulwark of the Ankara government to Israeli covert operations. In Washington, Democratic and Republican members of Congress announced there would be a price to pay for Ankara's continuing hate campaign against Israel and tight ties with Tehran.

And then there is the on-going saga in the Gulf with the oil spill.

On Wednesday, the Obama administration revealed that Feinberg would take charge of a $20 billion escrow fund to compensate people and businesses harmed by the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

It is also interesting to note he is only working "part time!"

"I'm confident he will assure that claims are administered as quickly, as fairly and as transparently as possible," President Obama said in a speech at the White House.

It really is a "good day to fly."

The apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:29, “For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.” It’s interesting how that believing, which is trusting Christ even in the most difficult of times, and suffering are linked together as something that is granted to believers.
Both verbs, believing and suffering, are in the present tense. Suffering is not always a given in a believer’s life and does not always have the same pain in it, but when it occurs it does not defeat a true believer! Instead it activates the faith that Christ alone produces in him to trust God no matter what. You see, faith is the “DNA” of all who believe in who God is and in what God says in His Word.
In Hebrews, we find our text nestled in the context of Jewish believers who, because of intense persecution, were ready to defect back to the sacrifices of animals and endless temple ritual. In fact, many had already defected. Isn’t it interesting that when bad times come, we allow our minds to deceive us into thinking that no one is in control and everyone is on his own? So, we put ourselves into a survival mode and will do even the unthinkable just to escape what we have concluded is the worst thing that can happen to us—death. We tend to forget that God is in control and death has been conquered by Christ on the cross.
In Hebrews 11:1 we see that faith rests on who God is and what He says: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” The first thing that we notice is that the definite article is not used here before the word faith. This means that he is speaking of all that true faith is and does! The word “assurance” here is the Greek word hupŏstasis, which refers to that which stands up under and holds something up. Some translators translate it as “substance”. It is the foundation or the ground upon which one builds his hope.
Hupŏstasis was used in a legal sense for the documents that were stored in archives that would prove one’s legal ownership of property and therefore allow him to build upon it. This phrase, then, could be translated “Faith is the title deed of things hoped for.” The Holy Spirit energizes the act of faith by which one receives Christ into their hearts, and that becomes the title deed that God puts into his hand that guarantees the possession of all that God promised him that he hopes for.
Have you fallen into the trap of believing no one is in control since nothing seems to be happening in the midst of your bad circumstances? There can be no greater assurance of our salvation and all the promises that God has given us than the foundation that was laid when you received Him into your life as your Lord and Savior. Our faith rests upon God and all that He has promised in His Word!
So look up, my brother or sister! God is in control, and the foundation that has already been laid in your life is assurance of the things hoped for and the things not seen. All the promises of God are present in Christ!
And that sure makes it “a good day to fly!”

Saudi Arabia gives Israel clear skies

You have to watch very carefully as you read the news. Of interest is that Obama is backing the UN in their effort to investigate the flotilla incident, and I think we all know the outcome even before it begins.

And than this week Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) pointed out that if an organization like Hamas was operating out of Canada and threatening US citizens, "America would have a tougher blockade than Israel has."
Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama was expected to offer even more money to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas when the latter visited the White House on Wednesday.

An Obama Administration official told Reuters that the money would be aimed at "improving life for the people of Gaza." Isn’t that just wonderful of his humanitarian efforts towards terrorists?

Washington likes to think that by giving the money to Abbas it will stay out of the hands of Hamas. What a joke, because last October, Bassem Khoury, economic minister for the Palestinian Authority, revealed in an interview with French newspaper Le Monde that Hamas ends up pocketing much of the money anyway.

And than Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defences to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Times can reveal.

In the week that the UN Security Council imposed a new round of sanctions on Tehran, defence sources in the Gulf say that Riyadh has agreed to allow Israel to use a narrow corridor of its airspace in the north of the country to shorten the distance for a bombing run on Iran.

To ensure the Israeli bombers pass unmolested, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defence systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom’s air defences will return to full alert.
Sources in Saudi Arabia say it is common knowledge within defence circles in the kingdom that an arrangement is in place if Israel decides to launch the raid. Despite the tension between the two governments, they share a mutual loathing of the regime in Tehran and a common fear of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “We all know this. We will let them [the Israelis] through and see nothing,” said one.

The four main targets for any raid on Iran would be the uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Qom, the gas storage development at Isfahan and the heavy-water reactor at Arak. Secondary targets include the lightwater reactor at Bushehr, which could produce weapons-grade plutonium when complete.

And now, Helen Thomas has new fans in the Middle East. Her journalism career in America may be over, but if 89-year-old Helen Thomas still has the energy, there is an enormous audience willing to hang on her every word in the Middle East.
If by chance you haven’t heard, Thomas was compelled to resign as White House correspondent and columnist for the Hearst newspaper group after she told an interviewer the the Jews should "get the hell out of Palestine." When Rabbi David Nesenoff of Rabbi LIVE asked Thomas where the Jews should go, she callously suggested they return to Germany and Poland, where millions of Jews were massacred during World War II.

Thomas has won mild support from the more left-leaning sectors of the US news media, but among terrorist organizations in the Middle East, she has become an icon.

"Respected American journalist Helen Thomas's answer shows ... a courageous, bold, honest and free opinion which expresses what people across the globe believe: that Israel is a racist state of murderers and thugs," said Hussein Moussawi, a Hizballah terrorist who serves in Lebanon's parliament.

Hamas has also come out in support of Thomas, who is of Lebanese descent.

Meanwhile, Rabbi Nesenoff has been receiving death threats for uncovering the true face of Helen Thomas.

Nesenoff wrote on RabbiLIVE.com that since interviewing Thomas, he has received thousands of pieces of hate mail, some of them calling for the murder of him and his family. Others have said the affair highlights the need for a new Holocaust against the Jews.

It is wonderful to know that the same ones who are seeking the demise of Israel just want to be good “law abiding citizens” of the United States. Maybe I need to point out shirea law.

And why are we building places of worship for Muslims inside our airports?
The Kansas City International Airport has added several foot-washing basins in restrooms to accommodate a growing number of Muslim taxicab drivers who requested the facilities to prepare for daily Islamic prayer, WND has learned.

The move concerns airport police who worry about Middle Eastern men loitering inside the building. After 9/11, the airport beefed up its police force to help prevent terrorist attacks.

"Why are we constructing places of worship for them inside our airports?" said an airport official who requested anonymity. "Why are we catering to their rituals? We don't do it for any other religion."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

In the past few days things are moving very fast.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told U.S. Jewish leaders on Wednesday that he would never deny Jews their right to the land of Israel, according to participants of the two-hour roundtable discussion.
Some 30 Jewish leaders from organizations such as AIPAC, the Anti-Defamation League, and the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations took part in the Washington meeting, which focused mainly on the indirect peace talks and violent "I am sure some people don't agree with him but the fact that everybody showed up was pretty encouraging," one of the participants told Haaretz..

The Palestinian president said during the discussion that he had in the past proposed creating a trilateral commission to monitor and punish incitement, but that Israel did not agree to it.
When asked what he could offer Israelis to show that he was serious about peace initiatives, Abbas reminded the participants that he had addressed the Israeli public in an interview on Channel 10. "Why wouldn't Bibi go to Palestinian TV and do the same?" said the Palestinian president.

"I would never deny [the] Jewish right to the land of Israel," Abbas then declared.

Later on Wednesday, Abbas told Charlie Rose in an interview on PBS that Israel must agree to ceding East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital as a necessary precondition for any peace settlement.
"East Jerusalem is occupied territory. The entire world recognizes that including the United States of America," Abbas told Rose. "We cannot accept any solution that excludes East Jerusalem."

During that interview, Abbas also lauded Barack Obama's administration and its efforts to bring forth a two-state solution.
"This is the first time we hear from a U.S. administration talking about that the solution of a two-state solution is in the vital interest of the United States," said Abbas.

"The two-state solution is no longer only a Palestinian interest or an Israeli interest or a Middle East interest, but it is also an American interest."

This is really making it look as if it would be “a good day to fly.”

Victory In Christ

Have you ever thought about the awesome victory that you and I have in Jesus Christ.

If you follow the news, you can become full of fear and wonder if there is any hope for this world. And when fear enters our live, it causes us to take our eyes off of the Savior, then we begin to loose faith, and when this happens, it becomes sin. And sin separates us from God.

This is what Paul talks about in First Corinthians 10:13-14 (KJV) :
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
So often we quote verse 13, but the 14th verse needs to be acknowledge. Here is a command for us to heed; we are to flee from sin!

Corinth was the sin center of the Roman Empire in Paul's day. It was labeled "Vanity Fair." Its location was about forty miles west of Athens on a narrow isthmus between Peloponnesus and the mainland. It was the great commercial center of the Roman Empire with three harbors, of which two were important: Lechaeum, about one and one half miles to the west, and Cenchrea, about eight and one half miles to the east. Since the time of Paul, a canal has been put through the isthmus, and Corinth is no longer an important city.
Even the ruins of Corinth were lost to history for many years. A fishing village had been built over them. In 1928 an earthquake uncovered them, and now much of the city has been excavated.

The population consisted of Greeks, Jews, Italians, and a mixed multitude. Sailors, merchants, adventurers, and refugees from all corners of the Roman Empire filled its streets. A perpetual "Vanity Fair" was held here. The vices of the East and of the West met and clasped hands in the work of human degradation.

This sounds somewhat like America today.

Religion itself was put to ignoble uses. A magnificent temple was built for the Greek goddess Aphrodite, or Venus as we know her by the Roman name. In it were a thousand priestesses who ministered to a base worship. Those thousand so-called priestesses were actually nothing in the world but prostitutes. Sex was a religion there. I believe that Corinth could teach this generation about sex. However, I think this generation already knows enough about that subject. We are overwhelmed with it ad nauseam today.

Not only was their religion debased, but the Greek philosophy was in its decay also. The city was given over to licentiousness and pleasure. The Isthmian games were conducted here. The people went on in endless discussions. It was into this kind of setting that Paul came, and later he said, "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified" (1Cor. 2:2). This was a people given over to pleasure, debauchery, and drunkenness. In fact, they coined a word in the Roman Empire which was to "corinthianize." Believe me, when you would "corinthianize," it meant that you went to the very limit in sin.

It was easy to be “tempted” when you listen to the wrong “voice.” This is why it is important that you take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 cor. 10:5). Why? Where your mind wanders, your feet are sure to follow.

The keynote of this epistle is the supremacy of Christ, the Lordship of Jesus. That is so important for us to note because that is the solution to the problems. You will find here that He is the solution to correct moral, social, and ecclesiastical disorders.
And than we wonder why our country is in the shape it is in!

It sure would be a “good day to fly.”

THE HIDDEN LIFE

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

We are living in a day with very little security. The very thought of "peace" seems so far removed for the moment. So therefore we need to set our sights on things above, and be hid with Christ in God.

The Spirit of God witnesses to the simple almighty security of the life hid with Christ in God and this is continually brought out in the Epistles. We talk as if it were the most precarious thing to live the sanctified life; it is the most secure thing, because it has Almighty God in and behind it. The most precarious thing is to try and live without God. If we are born again it is the easiest thing to live in right relationship to God and the most difficult thing to go wrong, if only we will heed God's warnings and keep in the light.

When we think of being delivered from sin, of being filled with the Spirit, and of walking in the light, we picture the peak of a great mountain, very high and wonderful, and we say - "Oh, but I could never live up there!" But when we do get there by God's grace, we find it is not a mountain peak, but a plateau where there is ample room to live and to grow. "Thou hast enlarged my steps under me."

When you really see Jesus, I defy you to doubt Him. When He says - "Let not your heart be troubled," if you see Him I defy you to trouble your mind, it is a moral impossibility to doubt when He is there. Every time you get into a personal contact with Jesus, His words are real "My peace I give unto you"; it is a peace all over from the crown of the head to the sole of the feet, an irrepressible confidence. "Your life is hid with Christ in God," and the imperturbable peace of Jesus Christ is imparted to you.

That my friend makes it "a good day to fly."

The Value Added Tax - A New Hidden Tax?

America’s economy is a mess. United States President Barack Obama’s budget would:

• Permanently expand the size of federal government spending by 3 percent of gross domestic product over 2007 levels;

• Double the national debt to over US$18 trillion;

• Borrow 42 cents for each dollar spent in 2010; and

• Place an additional debt of US$74,000 per household. This money will never be repaid in the current generation. The debt will be passed on the succeeding generations to pay.

Even though the U.S. federal government’s tax revenue has more than tripled since 1965, the budget deficit will top $1.6 trillion in 2010. This spending hike would push spending to $36,000 per household by 2020. Obviously, something has to be done to reverse this trend. President Obama has shown that he is more interested in raising taxes than cutting spending. In his own words, “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money.” The implication is that an individual is only entitled to so much money; governments (and thus other people) are entitled to the rest.

To finance this continued increase in spending, the federal government is going to have to bring in new sources of revenue. Unfortunately the “revenue well” is almost dry. The total per capita tax burden born by Americans is rising to the high-est level in history. The total taxes paid by an average American household will exceed US$16,000 in 2010. Corporate tax rates are at 35%, compared to 24% for the other OECD countries.

No matter how it would be implemented, the Value Added Tax is a form of servitude. Although some taxation is necessary, all taxation diminishes freedom. Money is a tangible form of time. We trade our time and labor for money. Government, in the form of taxation, takes away some of our freedom because we are forced to give an increasing portion of our time to the government and getting less and less in return.

The Scriptures command us to submit to governing authorities. Jesus Himself said, “Give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s”. This means Christians must be good citizens, pay taxes, obey laws, and serve (as called) in government. Augustine argued that Christians are to be the best citizens: what others do only because the law demands, we do out of love for God. In these times, more than ever, we need to heed the words of the Holy Spirit as written by Paul to Timothy to pray for our leaders in government, that they govern wisely and with Christian charity.

Truly, today would be "a good day to fly."

Rabbis: Flotilla Clash Similar to Gog and Magog Prophecy

The Rabbinical Council of Judea and Samaria issued a statement Thursday in which it said that the results of the incident in which Israel intercepted a flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza seem like the Biblical description of "the beginning of the Gog and Magog process where the world is against us, but which ends with the third and final redemption."

'Gog and Magog' is a reference is to chapters 38 and 39 in the book of Ezekiel, a part of which is read on the intermediate Sabbath of Sukkot (Tabernacles). These chapters describe a vision of a war where the world is united against Israel that will precede the final redemption of Israel and the world. The prophecy's symbolism involves a prince called Gog of Magog, leader of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, who leads a coalition that includes Persia (Iran), Cush, Phut, Gomer, and Beit Togarmah against Israel. There are various opinions regarding the modern identity of these nations.

The statement explained that while secular Zionism always wants Israel to be beloved by other nations, “the legitimacy of our people is not derived from the nations of the world and their poisonous traditions, rather from the Torah of Israel which teaches us that [Israel] 'is a people that shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations'" (Numbers 23:9). They emphasized that there is no reason to be alarmed by the world's condemnation as it is a predicted result of fear of Israel's success.

Verse 9 falls in the passage where Balaam was compelled by God to pronounce a blessing instead of a curse upon Israel (23:7-10). God's people were not to stand upon a level with other nations, but be dignified above them all, as a people near to God, and set apart for him. When God's hand was upon them, they were a people who had all the marks of discipline and order.

This was Israel's praise, though their enemies turned it to their reproach, that they differed from all the neighbouring nations, not only in their religion and sacred rites, but in their diet, and dress, and common usages, as a people called out of the world, and not to be conformed to it. They never lost their reputation till they mingled among the heathen.

America needs to take note. It is the duty and honour of those that are dedicated to God to be separated from the world, and not to walk according to the course and custom of it. Those who make conscience of peculiar duties may take the comfort of peculiar privileges.

I believe what we are seeing today is the beginning of the end of Gentile world domination. God is still in control.

Moral Blindness

Do you ever wonder why the people in charge can't do anything right for once?

Do you remember the old adage that the definition of insanity is the continuing repetition of an action that has always resulted in disaster.

Where is good old "common sense?"

What's happened to the courage to do what's right?

Isn't there anyone out there who is willing to stand for principle?

The real question is, "Where is moral courage?"

The ability to perceive His truth is not found by unrighteous men -- men who have not received the gift of salvation and the accompanying ability to inderstand Spiritual things. Without the truth, they apply human "wisdom," with the result that we see every day on the news coming out of our Nation's capitol.

The Apostle Paul put it quiet plainly, in unmistakable language in 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 (KJV)

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

It is this "mind of Christ" that we have taken for granted, in a land that was, from its earliest beginnings, guided by Christian men.

Our culture developed beneath a canopy of protrction, as the ubiquitous Spirit of God was spread abroad by a societal majority of Christian faith.

We have always been blessed by the presence of God's Holy Spirit. But sadly, we have begun to take our exceptional qualities for granted.

In the closing decades of the twentieth century, godless men came to power in increasing numbers.

Now in the twenty-first century, we seem posed to give up even the pretense of Christian faith.

We have gone insane!

The only hope is to find salvation by faith in Christ Jesus - ALONE.

Question - Did you know it was Memorial Day, today?

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I to honor dead Americans from all wars.

By 1865 the practice of decorating soldiers' graves had become widespread in the North. General John Logan, National Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic--the society of Union Army veterans--called for all GAR posts to celebrate a "Decoration Day" on May 30, 1868. There were events in 183 cemeteries in 27 states in 1868, and 336 in 1869. The northern states quickly adopted the holiday; Michigan made "Decoration Day" an official state holiday in 1871 and by 1890 every northern state followed suit. The ceremonies were sponsored by the Women's Relief Corps, with 100,000 members.

By 1870, the remains of nearly 300,000 Union dead had been buried in 73 national cemeteries, located mostly in the South, near the battlefields. The most famous are the Gettysburg National Cemetery in Pennsylvania and the Arlington National Cemetery, near Washington.

The Memorial Day speech became an occasion for veterans, politicians and ministers to commemorate the war--and at first to rehearse the atrocities of the enemy. They mixed religion and celebratory nationalism and provided a means for the people to make sense of their history in terms of sacrifice for a better nation, one closer to God. People of all religious beliefs joined together, and the point was often made that the Germans and Irish soldiers had become true Americans in the "baptism of blood" on the battlefield. By the end of the 1870s the rancor was gone and the speeches praised the brave soldiers both Blue and Gray. By the 1950s, the theme was American exceptionalism and duty to uphold freedom in the world.

Today, we have mostly forgotten the purpose. We see adds for store sales, food, drink, fun and the list goes on.

I am listening at this writing of a Negro Spiritual, and the words, "My Lord what a morning, when the sun refused to shine."

Do you think we might be close to that day. We have taken almost everything about the history of this nation that means anything out of the textbooks that our children are being taught from. And we are on the road, and almost at our destination of removing God from everything we hold dear.

Can our "ship" continue to take on water and still stay afloat?"

I was planning to take Memorial Day off and just relax. But!! There are too many things happening. First, I check the news this AM to find out the latest on the oil spill when I learned of the attack on the Israeli soldiers when they boarded the Turkish cruise ship. Yesterday, I had learned that activist were trying to breach the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Apparently, Israel was setup, because this incident is proving to be a real disaster for Israel. The ship was Turkish and it was carrying 500 plus activist who all have an anti-Israel agenda. Through out the Middle East mass rallies were held calling for the destruction of Israel. It is hard to believe that this was not staged. In Turkey over 10,000 rallied within a matter of a few hours. You figure. I am working on an email that I am going to send later today.

It was also reported that Israel has submarines in the Persian Gulf near Iran armed with nuclear weapons. Many experts believe that Iran cannot be allow to complete the development of an atomic arsenal.

The evidence that North Korea sank South Korea's ship with the lost of almost 50 sailors has further increased the potential for a military confrontation. Everyone agrees that North Korea is absolutely unpredictable.

In the mean time the BP's effort to stop the oil spill simply failed. I believe this has the potential of impacting each of us in ways we never dreamed. Many believe the clean up efforts may be more lethal than the spill. I believe we are witnessing the possible banning of all Gulf seafood. Who is to know what the seafood has been exposed to.

Conservative media fiddle while the military burns

Barney Frank and his friends are rolling their tanks through Congress while everyone is talking about something else. As we reel from one crisis to the next, homosexual activists and their allies are muscling through their agenda, with nary a peep from the nation's conservative talking heads.

This week, their target has been the military. I believe the next thing will be passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would criminalize traditional morality in every workplace with 15 or more employees. After that, they will try to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act. Finally, they aim to pass an "anti-bullying" law that will threaten schools with losing federal funds if they refuse to force kids to read Heather Has Two Mommies and Gloria Goes to Gay Pride. The agenda is breathtakingly ambitious, and would be unimaginable to previous generations.

The Left senses triumph now for two reasons:

First, the Obama-manufactured crisis-a-day has people terrified about where the economy is headed. The sheer magnitude of government takeovers and spending is dominating the Tea Party movement, and in fact, everybody.

Second, homosexual activists and their media enablers have "jammed" the public debate. Hollywood, educators and the media continually deny the truth about homosexuality – that while all people are made in God's image and are entitled to basic human rights – homosexuality is not in-born, is changeable, and is dangerous to the health and well being of individuals, families and communities. The militant advancement of gay activism poses the greatest threat to the freedoms of religion, assembly and speech within our borders.

Why aren't more Americans properly concerned? Perhaps the lack of resolve is because many conservative opinion leaders have run for the tall grass on this issue. By omitting it, they're saying it really isn't important.

When was the last time you heard a frank discussion about this on any of the top conservative talk shows, either on radio or television? Michael Savage is the only prominent talk show host to take it on, and he does it from Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco. With a few exceptions, GOP leaders have been silent.

The gravity of allowing open homosexuality in the military cannot be overstated. It has the potential of destroying the all-volunteer force by discouraging recruitment and retention and shattering unit morale. Recruits would undergo pro-homosexual "sensitivity" training. The already troubling problem of sexual misconduct would increase.

A 1993 report by the chief criminal investigator of the Army summarized 102 cases of homosexual misconduct in the army between 1989 and 1992. Twenty-nine of the incidents occurred in the barracks. Forty-nine incidents involved children. Five involved HIV-positive offenders. Nine occurred in either latrines or showers. Thirty-one cases involved soldiers with "a significant variance in pay grade," such as sergeants preying on enlisted men. And this was during a time when the ban was in effect, including the question at induction, and before Clinton watered down the 1993 law with "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." That law, by the way, which Congress passed overwhelmingly, explicitly bars people with the "propensity" to engage in homosexuality.

Reports like the above, and the astronomically higher incidences of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV among homosexual men, are ignored in any discussions of whether to lift the ban.

The liberal media might be expected to reject what God and common sense tell us about sexuality. But there is no excuse for the conservative brain trust to ignore this threat. If the gay rights activists get everything they want, thus transforming morality itself into a form of bigotry actionable under the law, we will see the criminalization of Christianity.

It's already happening in Great Britain, Scandinavia and in Canada, where the perversion of civil rights has led to Christians being hauled before human rights commissions for merely expressing a traditionalist view of sexual morality in public. And it's begun in the U.S. as well, with the Boy Scouts being thrown out of schools, parks and United Way chapters, and a Christian couple fined by the New Mexico Human Rights Commission for declining to photograph a lesbian civil union ceremony. In New Jersey, the state removed the tax exemption for a Methodist seaside gazebo because the church did not want it used for same-sex ceremonies contrary to biblical morality. Equal Employment Opportunity Commissioner Chai Feldblum has said in reference to gay rights, "I'm having a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win."

Former communist David Horowitz recalls that during the '60s, radical leftists determined that if they could destroy the U.S. military, they could destabilize the rest of capitalist America. Two things could accomplish this, they said: Putting women into combat, and opening the armed forces to homosexuality.

Even for non-religious Americans, the strategy – and threat – ought to be clear. It's time to get over fears of being called a "bigot," and to stand up for what's right for our military servicemen and women – and our country.

If conservative opinion leaders won't talk about this, how will the rest of the country rally to defeat this leftist goal? We still can, but the hour is late.

After World Wars One and Two, because of the amount of lives that were lost. The EU was form. At first it did not take the shape that it is today. but the idea, that is in effect today, was formed. The thinking was that if the nations banded together, they could prevent any one country waging war against another. They therorized that one country would be discouraged coming against several.

Thus the creation of NATO. This formation was to prevent what had previously happened in Europe, Germany, Poland, etc. In many respects, NATO has become very secretative in their operation. The unofficial power of the present EU rests in 27 individuals that are chosen, not elected. The visible government makes no laws, even though they are elected by the people.

Even when President Obama was sworn into office, one person was not in attendance. Gates was secured in an underground bunker in Virginia, in case a national disaster occurred and took out our government. Thus if that had happened, our country would have been under the command of "one" man. Scary thought isn't it?

Couple that with the fact that every government has the same making, a shadow government that can take over if something happens to the visible one.

Thus we have the making of a one man, in control of a one world government.

But you might ask, "How can one man really take over the government of the world?"

Well, with security cameras, surveillance of your financial transactions, radio frequency spy chips hidden in consumer products, tracking of your internet searches, and eavesdropping on your e-mail and phone calls. Without your knowledge or consent, every aspect of your life is observed and recorded. But who is watching the watchers?

An ultra-secret global elite, functioning as a very real shadow government controls technology, finance, international law, world trade, political power, and vast military capabilities. Those who hold power are invisible to all but a few insiders. Those unrivaled leaders answer to no earthly authority, and they won't stop until they control the world.

With groups like the Builderbergers, Tri Lateral Commission, The Club of Rome, The Council on Foreign Relations, they are working behind the scenes to destroy America and merge it into the coming global government.

Never have we lived in a day as today, Never have we seen so much happen so quickly.
Our country is "less" secure today, tha before 9/11.

The stock market took a big dive this past week, but the turbulent markets bounced off their lows Monday after an industry group said existing home sales rose last month by more than economists had forecasted.

But stocks are set to resume their slide Monday as investors remain jittery about the strength of Europe's financial stability. Futures are sharply lower. The expected drop at the open comes after a tumultuous week that saw major U.S. indexes post their biggest one-day losses of the year on Thursday only to rebound and rise Friday. Still, major indexes have been hit hard in recent weeks as investors continue to worry about European sovereign debt problems.

Major European indexes all fell Monday following a bailout over the weekend of a regional bank in Spain, one of the countries already dealing with ballooning deficits. The Bank of Spain stepped in to bail out Cajasur after it failed to complete a merger. It was only the second time Spain's central bank stepped in to bail out a regional lender.

Having placed 50 percent of America's economy under government control, the Obama administration is now angling for a tighter grip on the financial sector. The operative word is "fairness," which is shorthand for Obama's famous campaign promise to "spread the wealth around."

When critics said that this remark to "Joe the Plumber" displayed Obama's socialist leanings, Obama justified it by citing Scripture:

"My Bible tells me there is nothing wrong with helping other people," said then-Sen. Obama. "That we want to treat others like we want to be treated. That I am my brother's keeper, and I am my sister's keeper. I believe that."

But Obama, who once dismissed the Bible's relevance to politics, saying, "People haven't been reading their Bibles lately," may need to go reread his Engels. Co-author with Karl Marx of The Communist Manifesto, Friedrich Engels knew better than Obama about collectivism's clash with Christianity, stating, "...if some few passages of the Bible may be favourable to Communism, the general spirit of its doctrines is, nevertheless, totally opposed to it ...."

Despite Engels and Marx (who dismissed religion as the "opium of the people"), Obama and many others still manage to see socialism in the Bible. They point to the early church which, at first glance, seems like a model socialist community. The New Testament reports that these first believers "had all things in common" (Acts 4:32) and "all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need" (Acts 4:34-35).

But unlike socialism, the sharing was voluntary, not coerced, and the money was given not to the state, but the church. As Southern Baptist leader Richard Land puts it, "It's one thing for you to give out of compassion to someone who's less fortunate. It's an entirely different thing for the government to confiscate your property and give it to someone else."

While the Bible asserts property rights and the rights of inheritance, socialism assaults them.

Jerusalem: The Burdensome Stone

As President Barack Obama has now officially brought the United States into the ranks of the Alliance of Civilizations, (see story on the Latest News page) a UN organization started in 2006 with the publicized goal of bridging the gaps between Muslim and Western civilizations, I believe it will only further drive a wedge between America and the Jewish state, and further embolden the enemies of both Israel and the US.

As prophesied, Jerusalem is where world's plans are dashed to pieces. Jerusalem is increasingly becoming the make-or-break focal point of the Middle East peace process.

The nations and the spiritual powers behind them have plans for Israel, but so does the Lord. And just as God vowed through the prophet Zechariah some 2,500 years ago (Zechariah 12:3), He will use Jerusalem as the burdensome, immovable stone against which the nations and their plans will be dashed to pieces.

It seems that the political tug-of-war between Israel and the nations will never end.

In every generation, new enemies arise to fight against the Jews, determined to persist until Israel is either defeated or destroyed. But their plans are held back by the finger of God who remains faithful to His people. Some 3,700 years ago, the patriarch Jacob chose one of his 12 sons as his favorite, filling his siblings with jealousy, especially when a special gift was bestowed upon Joseph—the famous multi-colored robe. Today God has created a similar situation among the nations. He has chosen tiny Israel and given it a present no other people received: the promise of its own land.

Ever since, the nations have been stung with jealousy. And jealousy leads to conflict. It isn’t the Jewish settlements that are causing the Arab countries to hate Israel. That is only the latest political expression of a burning jealousy.

Before the State of Israel was established in 1948 there were no Jewish settlements, yet 6 million Jews were murdered during World War II. Then there was a different excuse for hating the Jews. Over the centuries, the Christians persecuted the Jews because they “killed God,” and the Muslims because they would not embrace Islam.

Today, it seems that the whole world is pulling with much greater strength against tiny Israel in this tug-of-war, but with the finger of God holding down the rope on Israel’s side, victory is assured.

The battle may look bleak at the moment, but the last chapter tell about the victory.

It sure looks like "a good day to fly."

Is the Bubble About to Burst?

Yes, it's true! The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the organization that "insures" your bank deposits, is officially broke. It ran out of money in early October due to the large number of banks that are continuing to fail.1 This news came in spite of the fact that the FDIC had raised its rates to member banks earlier in the year in an attempt to shore up its dwindling reserves.

When the financial crisis began in September of last year, the FDIC reported that 117 banks were in trouble. Since then approximately 80 percent of the banking companies on that list have gone under. To make matters worse, according to the FDIC the current number of troubled banks has risen to over 400.2 Let's think positive and say that only 50 percent of these institutions will fail during the next year; that could mean the closing of another 200 banks – twice as many as in the last 12 months. (Seven banks failed in just one day on October 23rd.)3

The FDIC has a special arrangement to borrow up to $20 billion of additional funds from the US Treasury in an emergency, but that will only get the agency through a few more months. What happens when that fund dries up?

At some point the American people will realize how dire the circumstances are and, having lost confidence in the system, will seek to withdraw their money before their banks go under as well. If you believe such a scenario is unlikely, consider the fact that the FDIC recently announced it expected to be "in the red" through 2012

As Christians, anything we do to prepare should be done unselfishly, keeping others in mind. If we are in a position to help others when things come crashing down, it will be a strong testimony to those who are unprepared. Difficult times could present unique opportunities to share the gospel of Christ with those who've been unwilling to listen before.

While Christians should be prudent and plan wisely as the Lord directs, our number one focus must be on our relationship with Him. We should use this time to grow in our walk, learning to depend on His direction in every facet of our lives. Just getting our houses in financial order won’t be enough in the days ahead. We will need supernatural discernment and perseverance that only the Holy Spirit can bring. Draw close to Jesus and He will provide the strength you need to stand firm while facing the challenges ahead!

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

It is definitely "a good day to fly."

Memorial Day 2010

Memorial Day is coming up and we need to thank God for the men and women who serve our country to preserve freedom.

For many, this day will be a holiday, cook-outs, etc., and many have grown up not really knowing what this day is all about.

As we reflect on the price paid for our freedoms, pray for military chaplains, for the familys whose one or the other spouse is on duty away from them, families that have lost their loved ones in war, for those who fought bravely but have received chronic disabilities; and pray for skill, safety, stamina and strength for our troops serving around the world. Thank God for our country and the blessings that only He could have given. Ask Him to give us grateful hearts to praise and recognize His hand in our history.

Ask God to also give us discernment to understand the times we live in, and to see as opportunities what we might first think are tragedies. For example, the Gulf Coast oil spill is certainly turning the resident’s lives upside down, but God has a plan for good out of a dire dilemma. In times as these, it is difficult to "see the forest for the trees."

We need to pray that people will come come to know Jesus in the midst of crisis.

A key scripture passage comes to mind here, “He will call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him, and honor him" (Psa. 91:15, NASB).

Despite declarations of peace, Israel is actively preparing for a regional war over the next few months.

Hizbullah was said to have established an estimated 160 outposts and bunkers in southern Lebanon near the border with Israel. Military sources said Hizbullah was expected to receive significant support from the U.S.-equipped Lebanese Army, which has deployed air defense systems as well as 15,000 soldiers in the south.
"There is no doubt, looking at the overall situation, that we are already in a military confrontation with Iran," Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Ya'alon said. "Iran is the main motivator of those attacking us."

"I call the summer of 2010 the tipping point for the Middle East," [Ret.] U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely said. "This could change the whole chessboard over there.

Israel: Two-state solution doesn't address core problem

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon on Sunday said the United States and the international community are going about making peace between Israel and the Arabs all wrong by focusing almost solely on the establishment of a Palestinian state.

In remarks to The Jerusalem Post on the eve of US envoy George Mitchell's arrival, Ayalon noted that the current US-brokered indirect peace talks seem to have the singular goal of bringing into being a new Arab state on ancient Jewish lands, which Washington and the world thinks will magically make the conflict disappear.

But the birth of a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip will not result in a "lasting peace," insisted Ayalon. At least not if it is not accompanied by true reconciliation.

"What is needed is reconciliation based on co-existence," Ayalon explained.

The original land-for-peace process ostensibly laid the groundwork for reconciliation and co-existence alongside security and land concessions. But the Palestinians have for nearly two decades ignored or outright refused to honor their commitments to end incitement against Israel and the Jews.

Because of its impatience over brining the peace process to a successful close, Washington has brushed aside these Palestinian violations, or worse, written them off as a justifiable response to alleged Israel provocations.

Ayalon's warning echoed the words of former US President John F. Kennedy when he told the UN General Assembly amid escalating tension with the Soviet Union:

"But peace does not rest in charters and covenants alone. It lies in the hearts and minds of all people. And if it is cast out there, then no act, no pact, no treaty, no organization can hope to preserve it without the support and the wholehearted commitment of all people. So let us not rest all our hopes on parchment and on paper; let us strive to build peace, a desire for peace, a willingness to work for peace, in the hearts and minds of all our people."

"What is needed is reconciliation based on God's Word," and this can't really happen until the "Prince of Peace" is on the throne.

Do You Wonder What Can Happen Next

Senior citizens who dine at the Ed Young Senior Citizens Center in Port Wentworth, Georgia, recently got a taste of something they didn't like with their meal. It was the bitter aftertaste of government intervention. Seniors who purchase meals at the center were told that they could no longer offer verbal prayers of thanksgiving or say grace aloud before their meals. Why? Because those meals are federally subsidized. (You know. That whole "separation of church and state" ploy.)

Even though that order was reversed after this week's show was produced, there are still some powerful lessons to be learned in this episode. I wonder what will happen when the federal government becomes the 'single payer' of our healthcare? I don't know about you, but prayer is a vital part of any visit I make to the doctor!

The Left just loves to trot out their misinterpretation of the "wall of separation" anytime anyone mentions God or Jesus. They claim the utterance of those words by anyone remotely connected with any sort of political governing body in the United States constitutes an establishment of religion, which is prohibited by the First Amendment to the Constitution. However, no one complains when it seems that each and every government official who has occupied office since 9/11 loudly and repeatedly proclaims that "Islam is a religion of peace and love." That sounds to me like a theological judgment. How is that NOT an "establishment of religion?" Oh, I see. The "separation clause" applies only to Christianity. I guess it takes a Liberal lawyer or a sitting judge to see it. You know, they're the ones who tell us that just because we don't see it in the Constitution doesn't mean it's not there!

It's often said that you can tell a lot about a man by looking at his enemies. Ever wonder what it is about Jesus Christ that makes so many go berserk? I'll tell you.

Last weekend, President Obama spoke to the graduating class at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. The man who made the internet a cornerstone of his campaign, tweeted (or twitted?) constantly to hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young fans, and used Facebook and other social media to great advantage, told the graduates that they were facing a new world in which they would be bombarded by too much unfiltered information. Further, the man who won election on the promise of 'change', told them that, unfortunately, the breathtaking change caused by this overload of information couldn't be stopped.

His speech seemed to imply that being exposed to all kinds of arguments is a BAD thing. That it might even threaten democracy. It's a far cry from the time Americans treasured a 'multiplicity of voices.' That expansive variety of thought and expression guaranteed that somehow, some way, the truth would be heard. Apparently, that's not what the Obama administration has in mind. In fact, in the financial reform bill, they're seeking to put control of the internet in the hands of the Federal Trade Commission. Think about the almost total control of every aspect of our lives the government has gained through the misapplication of interstate commerce laws! That's a chilling thought. Of course, that's what it's all about.

I am again reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

We need to pray for all of our leaders, right now, every day, and remove the sin from our land. This is our only hope.

This is another example of how the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing

The federal government is considering a lawsuit against a law that the U.S. attorney general hasn't even read.

Recent polls show solid public support for Arizona's new law aimed at cracking down on out-of-control illegal immigration in that state. Polls show more than 70 percent of Arizona residents support the new statute, and more than 60-percent support nationally.

The law drew immediate protests from supporters of illegal immigration, even though it clearly prohibits "racial profiling" -- one of the major criticisms leveled by protestors.

Based on the media coverage of the protests, the Obama administration has indicated it may file a federal lawsuit against Arizona to block the law. On Thursday, Congressman Ted Poe (R-Texas) of the House Judiciary Committee questioned U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder about the administration's plans regarding the controversial law.

Here is what our fine AG had to say.

Poe: "The law is supported by 70 percent of the people in Arizona, 60 percent of all Americans, and 50 percent of all Hispanics, according to the Wall Street Journal/NBC poll done just this week. And I understand that you may file a lawsuit against the law. It seems to me the administration ought to be enforcing border security and immigration laws and not challenge them, and that the administration is on the wrong side of the American people. Have you read the Arizona law?"

Holder: "I have not had a chance...I've glanced at it, I have not read it...."

Poe: "It's ten pages. It's a lot shorter than the healthcare bill, which was 2,000 pages long. I'll give you my copy of it if you'd like to have a copy. Even though you haven't read the law, do you have an opinion as to whether it's constitutional?"

Holder: "I've not been briefed yet. We, as I've said, have had under way a review of the law. I have not been briefed by the people who are responsible for that review."

Poe: "When do you think you will have an opinion as to whether the law is constitutional?"

Holder: "I've used this term a lot, but I think this is accurate: relatively soon. I think that we have to...there has been much discussion about this...."

Poe: "It's hard for me to understand how you would have concerns about something being unconstitutional if you haven't even read the law. It seems like you wouldn't make a judgment about whether it violates civil rights statutes...if you haven't read the law. So can you help me out there a little bit, how you can make a judgment call on that but you haven't read the law and determined whether it's constitutional or not?"

Holder: "What I've said is that I've not made up my mind. I've only made the comments that I've made on the basis of things that I've been able to glean by reading newspaper accounts...television...talking to people who are on the review team looking at the law. But I've not reached any conclusions yet...I've just expressed concerns on the basis of what I've heard about the law."

Things are moving very quickly these days.

Roadside signs and billboards put up as part of a new public relations campaign in the Palestinian Authority-controlled territories are hailing US President Barack Obama as the savior of the Palestinian Arabs. The signs read: "Barack Obama, free us from slavery, occupation and the settlements."

As part of the campaign, individual Palestinians have also been sending emails to Obama's personal address, urging him to become a true historical hero by freeing them from what they call Israeli oppression.

US President Barack Obama on Tuesday gently requested that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas "do everything he can" to prevent anti-Israel incitement in the Palestinian Authority. The request came during a telephone conversation between the two leaders, during which Obama apparently failed to address the fact that most anti-Israel incitement comes from official Palestinian Authority organs under Abbas' direct control, such as the public school system and PA TV.

His approach to Abbas starkly contrasted Washington's hostile handling of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over continued Jewish construction in parts of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinians. The difference between the two issues is that Israel never committed to stop building in Jerusalem, while the Palestinians long ago promised to stop encouraging their people, and most importantly their children, to kill Jews.

Obama also urged a renewal of direct peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and said he looked forward to hosting Abbas at the White House in the near future.

Israel's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday accused Russia of hypocrisy after Moscow joined Turkey in calling for the official inclusion of Hamas in the Middle East peace process.

Israel, like most Western governments, defines Hamas as a terrorist organization, and as such refuses to negotiate with it. But Russia and Turkey insist that Hamas is a major player in the region that must be taken seriously, regardless of its bloodthirsty methods and its stated desire to destroy Israel.

In a statement released to the press, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman reminded Russia that Hamas is no different than Chechen terrorists it refuses to negotiate with.

"Israel always stood behind Russia in its fight against Chechen terrorism, and would have expected similar treatment regarding Hamas terrorism against Israel," read the statement. "It is forbidden for enlightened countries to divide terrorists into good and bad ones on the basis of geography."

A battle is also brewing over S.B. 1070 - the controversial immigration bill signed into law by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer ... and now, the federal government has stepped into the fray.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is threatening to file a lawsuit against Arizona for enforcing their own immigration policy ... for attempting to defend their state borders from the drug wars taking place.

On top of that, the United Nations (U.N.) has also stepped in - saying Arizona's new immigration policy is violating international law.

There is no question that this debate boils down to political correctness versus the Constitution. And absolutely NO provision of the Constitution is being violated by Arizona's immigration policy.

We need to be in much prayer and stand with Arizona keep the Constitution from being watered down by political correctness.

What we are witnessing is the setting up of a "one world government." And if we see those in the economical and religious areas getting on-board, we had better make sure that our "ticket" is in our hand, because it is going to be "a good day to fly."

Many people deny that we are living in the "last days."

For the first time, US and European troops marched beside Russian forces as Moscow celebrated the end of World War II with its annual military parade on Sunday. According to The Wall Street Journal, Russia is looking at increasing its cooperation with the West, and a confidential report from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to President Dmitry Medveded outlines a program to improve Russia's economy by embracing Western technology. Yet, Medvedev's recent visit to Syria reveals that Russia is willing to make a wide variety of friends, whether America and Israel like it or not

Closer to home, this morning officials at the U.S. Geological Survey and the College of Charleston (SC) confirmed an earthquake hit about 6.6 miles southeast of Summerville at 5:03 a.m. Wednesday.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered off Dorchester Road near Wescott Boulevard. It registered a 2.8 on the Richter scale.

"There has been public concern since the Haiti earthquake that there have been more earthquakes and that they might portent 'the big one.' However, the number and size of earthquakes around the world in the last months are typical of the number and size we see on an annual basis," said Beutel in a release Wednesday morning. "The public and media have just been more aware of them because of the Haiti earthquake which brought earthquakes to the forefront of public consciousness."

The Summerville area routinely experiences between one and five minor earthquakes per year. "The earthquake today does not indicate an increase in the level of activity that might indicate a major earthquake," she said.

Beutel also pointed out the need for preparation, stating that while some West Coast earthquakes have been preceded by smaller earthquakes and other seismic activity, many large earthquakes do not bring with them early warning signs.

"The lack of signals that a large earthquake is about to occur is why all people living in areas that are prone to earthquakes (including the TriCounty area) need to be prepared," she said.

The 2.8-magnitude quake falls into the category of minor earthquakes, which are generally not felt but are recorded via seismographs. There are about 1,000 minor earthquakes per day globally. ©2010 WCSC. All rights reserved.

We have come a long way from World War II, and the end of the age still has not come. We should listen to the Lord and stop listening to false teachers. We will hear about wars and rumors of wars, but we should not be troubled because all these things will come to pass, and still it will not be the end of the age. We should also keep in mind that man will never solve the problem of war, or the economy, or hate, or crime, or whatever. The League of Nations could not solve this problem, and the United Nations will not be able to solve it either. There will be no peace until the Prince of Peace comes.

Today's news concerning Israel is not good! President Obama has taken a position with Russia, the European Union, and all of the Arab world which, calls for a nuclear free Middle East. This is simply a back door approach to disarming Israel, and it is the first time in the history of modern Israel that the US has taken this position.

Israel is the only truly democratic nation in the entire region. We know that they will stand alone in the last days. Are we witnessing the fulfillment of prophecy? This sure would be a good day to fly!

Where Are We Headed

In watching the news this morning, it has become somewhat discouraging.

On Fox and Friends this morning there was a story about a student in California that drew a flag and the teacher told her it was offensive.

And there was another about a nurseing home, I didn't catch where, that the residents can't say the blessing any more because the meals are federaly funded.

And than I was reading one of my websites that was talking about Franklin Graham. This is what Graham was quoted as saying, "In the United States) we see everyday our rights being eroded. Just a little at a time, but its happening. Everyday. So let’s preach while we can. Let’s stand up and holler ‘Jesus Christ! King of Kings, Lord of Lords!’to the top of our voice... The secularists are going to get ticked off, the news media’s going to hate it. I don’t know, maybe the people in the White House are going to be mad. But you know what, I don’t care. Because God has called us to take the Gospel -- His Gospel, the power of God and His Salvation -- unto the ends of the Earth.

This is what the web site said: "In some ways, I think it is the proverbial militant preacher that is preaching 'Jesus Christ! King of Kings, Lord of Lords' at the top of their voice that somehow is causing much of the turmoil and 'rights reduction' in America. Don't get me wrong... America was based on religious freedom, and we need to protect our right to proclaim the gospel without government intervention; but purposefully ticking off the people who are the ones who are in power over making the rules doesn't make sense to me either."
Every week as Cristians, if we attend church as we should, we have a "mountain top experience." Monday mornings are much different. I believe that is when we begin our walk through the "valley."

The bad news is that we have to go through the valleys. The "good news" is that we can prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.

First, we must refuse to become discouraged. When we place our confidence in the Shepard, we don't have to fear. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Tomothy 1:7.

Second, we must recognize God's presence. "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee," Isaiah 43:2.

Third, we must rely on God's protection. "thy rod and thy staff they comfort me,"Psalm 23:4. We need to walk through the valley with complete confidence and trust that God's will be with us and protect us.

It would be a great day to fly.

Placed In The Light

When you stop and look at what is happening in the world today, you realize all the problems stem from "sin." When Adam and Eve decided not to follow what God had told them in the Garden, they rejected God in their lives. Even before Gid created man, He planned for man's redemption.

To mistake conscious freedom from sin for deliverance from sin by the Atonement is a great error. No man knows what sin is until he is born again. Sin is what Jesus Christ faced on Calvary. The evidence that I am delivered from sin is that I know the real nature of sin in me. It takes the last reach of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, that is, the impartation of His absolute perfection, to make a man know what sin is.

The Holy Spirit applies the Atonement to us in the unconscious realm as well as in the realm of which we are conscious, and it is only when we get a grasp of the unrivalled power of the Spirit in us that we understand the meaning of 1John 1:7, "the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin." This does not refer to conscious sin only, but to the tremendously profound understanding of sin which only the Holy Ghost in me realizes.

If I walk in the light as God is in the light, not in the light of my conscience, but in the light of God - if I walk there, with nothing folded up, then there comes the amazing revelation, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from all sin so that God Almighty can see nothing to censure in me. In my consciousness it works with a keen poignant knowledge of what sin is. The love of God at work in me makes me hate with the hatred of the Holy Ghost all that is not in keeping with God's holiness. To walk in the light means that everything that is of the darkness drives me closer into the centre of the light.

When we remember what God has done for us, it makes it "a good day to fly."

Could We Be The Next Greece

One would have to have their head in the sand to miss what is going on in the world right now. One of the biggest is the protests going on in Greece.

Watching the news the other evening. there they were, at the wall under the Parthenon on May 4, unfurling their giant banners urging "Peoples of Europe - Rise Up." The banners were emblazoned with a red-colored communist hammer and sickle.

The location, was fitting, since they were standing beneath one of the most famous ruins in the world. After years of socialist policies, Greece is in economic ruins and is threatening to bring down the European economy with it. The government has been forced to announce austerity measures that are not sitting well with a people accustomed to socialist illusions.

It doesn't matter to them that the budget deficit is as high as 14 percent of the gross domestic product -- a whopping 11 percent higher than the European Union requires its members to observe. Led by the public employee unions, a general strike ensued on May 5, and it quickly turned murderous. Three people burned to death inside a bank that protesters had torched and then had blocked firefighters from saving them.

Socialism is an ideology built on illusion and envy. It's about "spreading the wealth" by taking from some to give to others. And its inevitable result is poverty, accompanied by force. That's because socialism is based on dishonest assumptions that transgress economic laws that are as immutable as gravity.

In Greek mythology, there were a lot of ornery personalities among the gods on Mt. Olympus. Life for the folks down below could be quite arbitrary.

The Bible, by contrast, assures us that there is only one God to answer to -- the Creator of the universe. The Scriptures present a wealth of guidance about economics and every other aspect of life, and make it clear that faith, strong families, and hard work are at the heart of economic success.

The Greeks, like the Romans, thrived when their pagan philosophers at these societies' zeniths most closely championed the precepts found in the Bible. Aristotle, for instance, preached natural law and virtue and warned of the misery spawned by the "'tribeless, lawless, hearthless one,' whom Homer denounces." And Rome's Cicero warned of the power of corrupt elites, that "the men of upper class who do wrong are especially dangerous to the State, because...not only are they corrupt, but also because they corrupt others."

Many of the Greek elites bought into the easy lies of socialism and wound up corrupting the populace with the promise of a free ride.

Hummmm....does that sound like America, today?

Because God's laws -- including the laws of economics and the consistency of human nature -- do not change, people and societies thrive if they follow biblical advice about safeguarding property rights and inheritance, working hard, and pursuing honesty in business dealings.

The Bible acknowledges healthy self-interest as well as the sinful nature of man. At war with God since it began metastasizing in the 19th century, socialism began with the mistaken assumptions that man is on his own here, is basically good, and needs only a strong government to perfect him.

Until we return back to God, socialists can actually believe that governments created by flawed men will solve all the flaws. And that government authorities are inherently altruistic (with other people's money), and are not subject to the corrupting influence of envy -- wanting what is not yours.

In the midst of all of this, there is hope. But that hope is only found in God's Son, Jesus Christ.
Every day, it looks more like "a good day to fly."

Does America Always Help Israel?

Top US officials stationed in Israel have taken it upon themselves to monitor Jewish construction in Jerusalem and other areas claimed by the Palestinian Arabs.

According to the Israeli newspaper Makor Rishon, the US ambassador to Israel, the US consul general in Jerusalem and other officials demand regular updates from Israeli ministers associated with building committees.

As a result of that pressure, building permits for thousands of new housing units in Jerusalem have been held up indefinitely. Government and municipal officials have confirmed that there is an unofficial Jewish building freeze in Jerusalem because of the American pressure.

In related news, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday told London-based pan-Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that Washington had guaranteed him there would be no "provocations" by Israel during the start of US-hosted indirect peace talks scheduled to take place next week.

The Palestinians view Jewish construction in most of Jerusalem as a provocation, and in response have refused to negotiate with Israel.

US President Barack Obama is working closely with Russia and Egypt on an effort to rid Israel of its supposed nuclear weapons arsenal, according to several mainstream media reports this week.
Most prominently, the Wall Street Journal reported that Obama is keen to adopt an Egyptian proposal to declare the Middle East a nuclear-free zone. A follow-up regional conference would put heavy pressure on all nations to comply.

Being the only country in the Middle East believed to possess nuclear weapons, Israel would be the clear target of such a move. Washington is suggesting that by pressuring Israel to give up its nukes, it has a much better chance to convince Iran to halt its defiant nuclear program.

That angle has become a major topic of discussion at the current Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference taking place at UN headquarters in New York. Arab and Muslim nations have enthusiastically joined and pushed the discussion on Israel's nuclear program in an effort to divert attention from Iran.

Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton warned that Obama was playing right into the Muslims' hands, and threatening Israel's long-term security. "The president is not happy with Israel's nuclear capabilities. I think he would be delighted if Israel gave up its nuclear weapons," Bolton told Israel's Army Radio. "The only unknown answer at this point is exactly how much pressure he would exert on Israel to do just that.

Part of that pressure is being exerted right now by even considering the possibility of a conference on a nuclear-weapons-free Middle East."

Israel has never confirmed nor denied that it has nuclear weapons, though most believe the Jewish state to be in possession of at least a couple hundred warheads. Those weapons, if they exist, are the primary deterrent against yet another region-wide Arab attempt to overrun and destroy Israel. Prior to Israel's nuclear program, its Arab neighbors launched three full-scale wars aimed at annihilating the Jewish state.

Right now, the whole world is looking to the President of the United States, including Israel. But the question we are asking here is, will Barack Hussein Obama be good or bad for Israel, especially in light of his familial Moslem ties and friendship with some very anti-Israel figures?

It is said that the US has always helped Israel and without the US, Israel would never have been able to survive. However, despite the great friendship the US has exhibited over the years, the idea that Israel would not have survived without the US is a myth. Ultimately, the God of Israel is the reason His nation has survived against all the odds.

Although the US endorsed the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine in 1947, America did not provide Israel with any resources for self defense during the War of Independence in 1948.

Wouldn't it be "a good day to fly?"

Learning To Listen

Today, we celebrate the National Day of Prayer. Let’s not take for granted that we will always have the freedom to participate, but let us pray that we will. Pray that we as Christians will rest in the Lord and not fret over the short-lived success of evildoers. God tells us in His Word what to do when things like our current events take place. He calls us to be the light of the world, to focus on Him, and watch as He wins the victory on our behalf. When we respond God’s way, we won’t fall into the trap of reacting in a worldly way. (See 2 Chron. 20:3, 12, 15, 22; Psalm 37:7-8; Prov. 3:5-6; Matt. 5:43-48; 10:16-22; and 1 Peter 2:13-20.)

God is speaking all around us and actively at work in our world. Not only that, but He invites us to walk with Him and obey Him when He speaks to us. Are you hearing God’s voice on a regular basis? Would you like to?

“The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice" (John 10:3-4, ESV).

We must learn to hear the voice of the Lord and walk in confidence that He is directing our path. When we devote ourselves to listening and discerning God's voice, He will open the doors to marvelous and miraculous moments of His divine work in our midst. No doubt the days ahead will grow darker and the struggles around us will increase. But when we follow the leading of the Lord, we will represent truth, hope, and the light of Christ to a lost and fearful world.

Jesus Himself was devoted to saturating Himself in prayer and the truth of the Word. The evidence of this became especially clear just prior to His darkest moment in life. Because He was so intimately connected with His Father, He knew the prophetic events to come in His impending death. He prepared His disciples by telling them how they would respond - that they would scatter in fear and leave Him alone.

Jesus prayed with confidence and assurance as He prepared both Himself and His beloved disciples. In John 17, He prayed that the Father would be glorified through His life. He prayed for the care, protection, and unity of the disciples. He prayed that the love of God would saturate them. And He prayed for us, as those who have also found faith in Him. Jesus' prayers are still being answered in our day!

In the same way, we must prepare ourselves to fulfill God's Kingdom purposes by listening to the Lord and walking in obedience to everything He instructs us to do. To learn to truly hear His voice, we must saturate ourselves with the truths of His Word. We must deepen our intimacy with Him by spending much time alone in fellowship with Him through prayer, as well as corporately in community with other believers in Jesus Christ.

As we walk in communion with God we can know that today would "be a good day to fly."

Praying For Our Nation And The World

A US District judge ruled the National Day of Prayer to be unconstitutional in mid-April, much to the consternation of large numbers of Americans. Since enforcement is suspended until the case goes through the appeals process, however, the National Day of Prayer is still officially on for Thursday, May 6th. President Obama signed a statement on Monday proclaiming May 6th the National Day of Prayer, following the tradition of presidents since 1952. Rather than holding a big prayer gathering in the East Room of the White House the way President Bush used to do, Obama has declined to pray in public, saying he will honor the day in private.

Today, Thursday, May 6, there will be a community prayer service at the Myrtle Beach Race track at 7:00 PM. I hope to see you there if you are in the area. No matter where you are, this would be of upmost importance to be in prayer for our nation at this critical time in our history and the time of our world.

Another note of interest comes from Christianity Today; A Christian street preacher in Britain will stand trial for telling a passerby -- in earshot of a policewoman -- that God views homosexuality as a sin. Police arrested Dale McAlpine, a 42-year-old Baptist, under Britain's Public Order Act 1986, which forbids "using threatening, abusive or insulting words ... tending to and causing harassment, alarm or distress."

McAlpine told The Daily Telegraph newspaper that he was arrested after a part-time police officer said she heard him reciting a list of "sins" against God, including blasphemy, drunkenness and same-sex relationships.The preacher denied mentioning homosexuality, but he did concede he had told a passing shopper that it was a sin in the eyes of God.

At a magistrates court hearing in Workington, England, on Friday, McAlpine pleaded not guilty to the public order offense charge but was arraigned for trial at an unspecified date."My freedom was taken away on the hearsay evidence of someone who disliked what I said, and I was charged under a law that doesn't apply," he said.

The newspaper report said McAlpine was fingerprinted, given a DNA swab and retina scan, and was locked in a police cell for seven hours on April 20."I am not homophobic," he insisted, "but sometimes I do say that the Bible says homosexuality is a crime against the Creator."McAlpine's arrest comes days after a top British judge was criticized for ruling that Christian beliefs are not entitled to special protection under the laws of the nation.

Are we coming to a time where calling sin, sin will put us behind bars for telling what we as Christians believe. One important sign of the End Times is the freedoms we enjoy being taken away from us. especially our religious freedoms!

Truly, we are living in the most wonderful time that we could ever be in. It certainly would be a "good day to fly." Will you be going with me?

Prayer Of Trouble And Sorrow

It is very rewarding when you read through the Book of Psalms. There are so many gems in the verses. and this is true with Psalm 102. Encased in these verses is the truth that in the time of national disaster and distress, faith drives the soul to communion with God. And in the time we are living, there is nothing any better than to be held in the strong arms of our Heavenly Father.

Psalm 102 is a messianic psalm that pictures the Lord Jesus in Gethsemane. The writer of this psalm is not mentioned, but if I were guessing, it would be David. This psalm pictures the affliction and humiliation of our Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane.

What a glorious and wonderful psalm this is! We see the deepest woe and agony that man can have: “Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me” [Ps. 102:8].

As I was reading this verse, I was thinking of what was happening yesterday when Iran's President Ahmadinejad's addressed the United Nations. In his speech, Ahmadinejad accused the United States of committing "acts of terror" and once again targeted Israel -- the very country he has threatened to "wipe off the map" -- as the obstacle to peace.

Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down [Ps. 102:10]. The words indignation and wrath are the strongest terms you can use in the Hebrew language. The Lord endured this. Why? He did it ". . . for the joy that was set before him . . .'' (Heb. 12:2).

But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come [Ps. 102:12-13].

He will have mercy upon Zion! And so it was ". . . for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame . . .'' (Heb. 12:2). He died, you see, for the nation Israel. John 11:50-51 mentions that it was necessary for one to die for the nation. And Christ did die for that nation. And He is going to build Zion again when He appears in His glory -- which will be at His second coming. When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory [Ps. 02:16].

Our Lord knew that through His sacrificial death Zion would ultimately be redeemed. Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed. But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end [Ps. 102:25-27].

The Holy Spirit quotes this passage in Hebrews 1:10-12, and we would not have known that Psalm 102 was a messianic psalm if it hadn't pleased the Author of the Bible, the Spirit of God, to reveal the meaning of this section in the first chapter of Hebrews. Psalm 102 applies to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is His prayer of trouble and sorrow. This is the King in Gethsemane.

We are living in difficult days. If we are not careful, our vision will be lead away by the circumstances around us. May we keep focused on Him who is able to make a way through the desert, and into the very presence of God.

Even with the clouds outside right now, this would be "a good day to fly."

We Could Fly Today

I was just spending some time catching up on the main headlines this morning. Take a look:

Authorities searching for drug smugglers who shot and wounded an Arizona sheriff's deputy in the desert south of Phoenix said they captured 17 suspected illegal immigrants Saturday.

Republicans are on offense in scores of House and Senate races as persistent economic woes and lukewarm support for President Barack Obama continue to weaken Democrats' hold on Congress.

A Christian attorney is reminding his fellow Californians that all that is needed for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against a Michigan judge who was accused of violating a woman's right to practice her religion when he told her to remove her Muslim headscarf.

Police found an "amateurish" but potentially powerful bomb that apparently began to detonate but did not explode in a smoking sport utility vehicle in Times Square, authorities said Sunday.

Heavy thunderstorms lashed parts of western Tennessee with almost a foot of rain, leading to the deaths of five people and flooded neighborhoods, roads and waterways.

Do you think that the first six have anything to do with the last three.

There is no doubt, we are living in the last days. As you read the words of our Lord in Matthew 24, there can be no doubt. One can also read from Micah 7:1-8, and Ezekiel 29:5-7. Be not deceived. Several things are happening at this moment. There is the alignment of the nations against Israel.

In 1979, Israel and Egypt signed their famous peace treaty under U. S. President Jimmy Carter, between Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat. Thought strained, this agreement has stood for three decades. But with recent shift in U .S. support from Israel to Egypt, it appears about to go under. One day, I believe soon, it will break like a fine reed and Israel will struggle to remain standing.

Israel has depended upon a series of frail treaties that could stand only with the backing of a major power like the United States.

As we read our Scriptures, we realize that all these "peace processes" are doomed to fail. Prophecy says so. And we are watching it happen before our very eyes.

It sure would be a "good day to flly."

Obama Preparing To Force Israel's Hand

The headlines continue to grow everyday about how our country is trying to force Israel to give away land that was given to them by God, beginning with Abraham.

Israeli officials told Ha'aretz on Thursday that US President Barack Obama recently assured European leaders that if the Israeli-Palestinian peace process is not moving forward by September or October, he will convene an international peace summit.

The purpose of convening an international peace summit could only be to impose a peace settlement on the two sides, and if Obama's policies of late are anything to judge by, that peace settlement would greatly favor the Arabs by incorporating nearly all their demands.
Palestinian officials this week also said they had received assurances from US Middle East envoy George Mitchell that if Israel did not start complying with US-backed Arab demands soon, Obama would act to force Jerusalem's hand.

The Palestinians are also threatening to unilaterally declare independence by October if Israel does not start meeting their demands. Israeli officials fear the UN would recognize such a declaration, and that the Obama Administration would do little or nothing to block it.

Recent history has demonstrated that such reports, which are often leaked as a pressure tactic against Israel, actually further delay peace negotiations as the Palestinians are all too happy to remain defiant and wait on the international community to strong-arm Israel.

The US and Europe remain mum on the fact that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly said he is ready to immediately restart direct bilateral negotiations, while the Palestinians refuse to sit with the Israelis and discuss anything.

One wonders if the disasters of the past few weeks have and are coming upon us because we are turning our backs on Israel, and in essence turning our backs on God.

It is looking more like a "good day to fly."

For the Lord, Not Men

There is an important difference between doing something for people and doing something for God. God always deserves our best effort. People will disappoint us, betray us, neglect us, and mistreat us. Some will constantly ask for what we can give while offering nothing in return. From our human perspective, these people deserve our minimal effort at best.

What then should motivate us to serve people, except our love for God? God deserves our love, and He demands that we love others in the same way He does. We are to love our spouses, not as they deserve, but as God commands (Eph. 5:22–33). We are to treat our friends, not as they treat us, but as Christ loves us (John 13:14). We are to labor at our jobs, not in proportion to the way our employer treats us, but according to the way God treats us. God is the One we serve (Eph. 6:5).

Mediocrity and laziness have no place in the Christian's life. Christians must maintain integrity at home and in the workplace. Working for God, as opposed to working for other people, changes our perspective as we view our endeavors in light of what He has done for us. Our toil then becomes an offering to God.

We not only worship God at church on Sunday, but our labor throughout the week is an offering of worship and thanksgiving to the One who has given us everything we have. When people do not measure up to our expectations and we feel our efforts are being wasted, we must keep in mind that we are toiling for holy God. He is worthy of our best effort.

After we have done our best for Him, then we can say, "it is a good day to fly."

In what appears to be a honeybee mystery of Armageddon proportions that has baffled scientists and beekeepers, more than one-third of the nation's commercial honeybee population is mysteriously disappearing – and researchers warn the unexplained phenomenon threatens one-third of the American diet.

Experts warn the implications for the world's agriculture are nothing to be ignored: according to the United States Department of Agriculture, a full one-third of the human diet depends on honeybee pollination of crops – especially fruit, nut, vegetable and seed production in the United States.

The list of crops that depend on honeybees is long: almonds, apples, apricots, avocadoes, blueberries, boysenberries, cherries, citrus fruits, cranberries, grapes, kiwi, loganberries, macadamia nuts, nectarines, olives, peaches, pears, plums, raspberries, strawberries, asparagus, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, cantaloupe, honeydew, onions, pumpkins, squash, watermelon, alfalfa hay and seed, cotton lint, cotton seed, legume seed, peanuts, rapeseed, soybeans, sugar beets and sunflowers.

It may be that the "one third" caught my attention first, and brought to mind the verse in Revelation 8:7 where it talks about the Angel sounding the first trumpet judgement and a third of all vegetation on earth was struck.

This verse is refering to the tribulation period, although we are experiencing the birth pangs, that will precede the most devasting time this world has ever seen. Once again, signs are every where. One only has to not be paying attention and not care what is happening. One of the last warnings in God's Word says that, "whosoever's name was not found recorded in the Lamb's Bool of Life was cast into the lake of fire." [Rev. 20:15]

What about you? What about your family and loved ones? Will you see them in the Rapture? Will they see you?

Ephesians 2:8-9 says that we are saved by grace through faith and there is nothing we can do to merit it. Christ did all it for us, and all we have to do is to accept His free gift. It is waiting for you if you will but take it.

It sure is a beautiful "day to fly."

Do We Under Estimate God

Sometimes a little humor is much in order in the day that we live.

I am reminded of a story entitled THE PASTOR'S CAT...This particular story has given me a laugh every time I think about it, the vision of that poor cat just amuses me to no end. Hope the story leaves a bright spot in your day. A church member told this story about the pastor of his church. He had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down.

The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and pulled it until the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten. And that's what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car.He then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten.

Now I know what you are thinking; I did also when I first heard it.

But as he moved the car a little further forward, the rope broke. The tree went 'boing!' and the kitten instantly sailed through the air - out of sight. The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten. So he prayed, 'Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping,' and went on about his business.

A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food. This woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her, 'Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?'

She replied, 'You won't believe this,' and then told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom finally told her little girl, 'Well, if God gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it.'

She told the pastor, 'I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed right in front of her.'

Lesson learned: Never underestimate the Power of God and His unique sense of humor.

Often I think of that story, but I wonder how much or how often do we underestimate God and His Word. We have heard for a long time now that Christ is coming back. Do we really believe it?

We hear of wars and rumors of war, but do we really believe that things are any different now than they were, say just 10 years ago?

We read the passage that says, "God's Spirit will not always strive with man forever,' but do we really believe it?

In light of the Rapture that could take place even today, when was the last time you had a compassion for those lost, in your family, in your home, at your place of work, at the grocery store or the mall.?

Do you really believe what God says or do you think, like many over the years, that we have heard this and yet He tarrys? That we still have time?

Are you underestimating God?

Surely, as we think of all that God has said, we know in our hearts that today "could be a good day to fly!" ARE YOU READY? IS YOUR FAMILY READY?

Signs Of The Times Are Everywhere

It was good to be back in class last evening and listen to those telling about their experiences in the Holy Land, and than to look at Matthew 24 and relate it to what we see happening around us. If you watch with your spiritual eye, you can see almost moment by moment the rumblings going on in Heaven where, I believe, God Almighty is getting thing ready to tell His Son, "go get your Bride."

Several interesting articles are in the news this morning.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told Israeli President Shimon Peres when the two met in Paris two weeks ago that the current failure of the Middle East peace process is almost entirely the fault of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Senior Israeli officials were briefed on the meeting recently, and told Ha'aretz under condition of anonymity that it was a "very difficult" encounter for Peres.

Sarkozy reportedly spent the first 15 minutes of the meeting railing against Netanyahu.
"I'm disappointed with him," the French president reportedly said.. "With the friendship, sympathy and commitment we have toward Israel, we still can't accept this foot-dragging. I don't understand where Netanyahu is going or what he wants."

Sarkozy's increasingly hostile position mirrors that of the Obama Administration, which has made clear that it sees Netanyahu and the right-wing elements in his government as the reason the peace process is not moving forward.

That despite the fact that Netanyahu has already gone against his election platform by publicly accepting the idea of a Palestinian state, has frozen Jewish building in Judea and Samaria and has repeatedly stated that he is ready to immediately restart direct bilateral negotiations with the Palestinians.

That Palestinian leaders outright refuse to sit with Netanyahu and discuss these issues has been almost completely ignored in Western capitals.

In another note, this is not new today, but is beginning to open the eyes of many church leaders today.

Pope Benedict has approved a new church provision that will allow non-Catholics and in particular, the Anglicans, to convert to Catholicism while at the same time, maintaining many of their distinctive spiritual and liturgical traditions.The Vatican made this decision in response to the disillusionment of some Anglicans over the election of openly gay bishops and the blessing of same sex marriage which has caused a major uproar in the Anglican church not only in England, but across the world.

This never-before provision for Protestants to become a part of the Catholic Church has many Protestant leaders concerned about the breakdown in doctrinal differences between the Catholics and Protestants that came out of the Reformation 500 years ago.

Revelation 17 predicts a worldwide church will be in operation during the seven year period of judgment known as the Tribulation. Could this be the beginning of the final curtain?

Also, Senior Obama Administration officials on Tuesday expressed frustration and anger over criticism leveled against them by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat in a series of interview with American media.

Barkat is currently in Washington for meetings and interviews set up for him by top congressional leaders. During the interviews, he has constantly referred to US pressure on Israel to halt Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem as "illegal," and has suggested that Obama is anti-Israel.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is also in Washington, and during meetings with top administration officials, he has been pressed to reign in Barkat and halt what they called his unproductive behavior.

My heart rejoices to think that we "could fly today."

Again, Who Are We At War With?

In following the news related to the recinding of Franklin Graham's invitation to speak at the Pentagon's Day of Prayer service, you begin to wonder if our government will really be able to protect us as citizens, should the need arize.

An article appeared on Jimmy DeYoungs web site entitled Islam: Don't Tread on Me, written by Col. Bob Maginnis. Lieutenant Colonel Robert (Bob) Maginnis, US Army (retired) is an experienced and internationally known expert on national security and foreign affairs. He currently serves as a national security and foreign affairs analyst for Moody Broadcasting Radio Network, Salem Radio Network, and is a regular guest on several other radio and television networks. During 2002-2003, he served as a Fox News military analyst. He is a Senior Strategist with BCP International Limited, an Alexandria, VA-based company where his primary duties involve working on multinational programs for the Department of the Army. Since October of 2002, Colonel Maginnis has been a member of the Secretary of Defense’s retired military analyst group. In 2007, he became the Executive Director for Checks for Heroes, a non-profit organization that capitalizes programs that help families of those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. America is still a great nation. I believe this because of why else would the world want us done away with, especially Islam?

Our greatness has been in the God we serve. We could very well say that we have a "pharoah" who knows not the one true God, therefore our nation is serving the "gods of baal."

Eli was a judge of Israel. He had two sons, who were priests, that led Israel into sin. When the boy Samuel was called by God in the night, God told him what would become of the nation and the family of Eli. True to His Word, God did what He said He would do.

Do you believe that we can do what God says not to do without His judgement coming upon us. We need to wake up from our sleep and hold up the banner of our Lord, because truly today would be a "good day to fly."

What Ever Happened To Sin?

Having been this morning catching up on the news from the weekend, it is interesting to see how people rationalize their sin. Maybe a definition of what sin really is, would be needed about right now. According to scripture, sin is an act of disobedience against a Holy God. God loved us and gave His only Son to be the sacrifice that was needed for our transgression, that being rejection of His Son in our lives [John 3:16].

In basketball or football terms, there are boundries that the game must be played in. To operate outside those boundries, you cannot play the game.

So it is with God. He set the boundries that we should live in in the first five books of the Bible. Sad to say, we have "lost" God's Word in many of our churches today. How many churches today in this land really rest upon the Word of God and preach it? Although there are still many faithful pastors, there are many who have departed from the faith. They have lost the Bible in church. Remember when Jesus was a boy, Mary and Joseph lost Him in the temple. Believe me, Jesus, as well as the Bible, is lost in the church today.

We also see this in 2 Kings 22, where God's Word was lost but found: And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it [2Kings 22:8].

Then we read, "And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king" [2Kings 22:9-10].

Imagine this! Now Josiah is hearing the Word of God for the first time!

"And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes" [2Kings 22:11].

The message God returns to Josiah through Huldah the prophetess, reveals God's justice.

"Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:

Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched" [2Kings 22:16-17].

When they lost God's Word, they lost the fear of God. And when you loose the fear of God, you lose the fear of sin. Many people think that today, if God sees our sin and doesn't stop us, that it is all right with Him and He has changed His mind. We, in America are setting the stage for the final curtain to go up.

And when it does, it will be a "good day to fly"

Abide in the Vine

"I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.”—John 15:5

There are those who feel that they must be constantly laboring for the Lord in order to meet God's high standards. Jesus gave a clear picture of what our relationship to Him ought to be like. He is the vine, the source of our life. We are the branches, the place where fruit is produced. As we receive life from Christ, the natural, inevitable result is that fruit is produced in our lives.
In our zeal to produce “results” for our Lord, we sometimes become so intent on fruit production that we neglect abiding in Christ. We may feel that “abiding” is not as productive or that it takes too much time away from our fruit production. Yet Jesus said that it is not our activity that produces fruit, it is our relationship with Him.

Jesus gave an important warning to His disciples. He cautioned that if they ever attempted to live their Christian life apart from an intimate relationship with Him, they would discover that they ceased to produce any significant results. They might exert great effort for the kingdom of God, yet when they stopped to account for their lives, they would find only barrenness. One of the most dramatic acts Jesus ever performed was cursing a fig tree that had failed to produce fruit (Mark 11:14). Are you comfortable in abiding, or are you impatient to be engaged in activity? If you will remain steadfastly in fellowship with Jesus, a great harvest will be the natural by-product.

As we abide in Him we realize that today would be "a good day to fly."

Outrage builds over Graham's rejection at Pentagon

Sometimes, as you read and listen to the news, one wonders just who we really are at war with.

The Council on American Islamic Relations, a group with ties to terrorism, had called on the Pentagon to disinvite Franklin Graham from speaking at this years National Day of Prayer service.

On Thursday afternoon, a spokesman for the U.S. Army said the Pentagon had rescinded its invitation to Graham -- founder of Samaritan's Purse -- to be the lead speaker at a May 6 Pentagon service held in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer. In a statement, Graham said he regrets the Army's decision and will continue to pray for the troops. The reason for the "dis-invite"? Graham's earlier comments about Islam were "not appropriate," said the Army. In 2001, the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham described Islam as "evil" following terrorist attacks. More recently, he has said he finds Islam offensive and wants Muslims to know that Jesus Christ died for their sins.

Tony Perkins is a pro-family leader who himself was disinvited from speaking at an Air Force event. He says it's an absolute outrage that the Army has caved to political correctness in disinviting Graham from taking part in an upcoming prayer event. Perkins, president of the Family Research Council (FRC), was similarly disinvited from speaking at a luncheon in February at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, DC, after he criticized President Obama's call for lifting the ban on homosexuals serving in the military.

He notes that political correctness has struck again. "Radical Islamists operate very much like radical homosexuals in that they don't mind screaming and playing the role of the victim and using special laws to protect them," Perkins comments.

"We don't even have many of those laws in place yet in this country like they do in Europe, but we have seen this environment of political correctness created by this administration -- and clearly the White House could step in at any time in any of these decisions that the military has made to disinvite Christian leaders, and they have not."

The FRC president believes this treatment of Franklin Graham clearly illustrates that the Obama administration is creating a hostile environment toward Christianity.

And yet, we know that these things, according to Revelation, must happen for the antichrist to be able to come into power during the tribulation period. There is the possibility that the Church may face a time of persecution, the likes of nothing that has happened before in the history of our nation, prior to the Rapture of the Church. What has happened in Europe, is about to take place here in the United States. Our present government will help to bring it in.

It sure looks like "a good day to fly."

Will We See Revival

Studying prophecy and reading God's Word opens up your mind to a lot you don't ordinary think about. Sadly, we have many generations who know very little, if nothing at all, experientially, of true revival and spiritual awakening.

Over the years of ministry, especially in just the last fifteen, many Bible preachers and teachers have passed on to Glory, with not many, if any, to replace them.

In recent surveys of colleges and seminaries, many have said that they are in the ministry for fininacial gains, not the "Call of God upon their lives." Many churches today have big attendance, but very little outreach and soul winning. We have lost our "compassion" for the lost of our communities, and homes. There are four things needed to have Revival that are missing today in the Church.

The First need for today and this hour is Pervasive, Fervent Praying. All revival begins, and continues, in the prayer meeting. Some have also called prayer the "great fruit of revival." In times of revival, thousands may be found on their knees for hours, lifting up their heartfelt cries, with thanksgiving, to heaven.

In George Whitfield's time, overwhelmed by the Presence of God, people would pray and cry out to God throughout the night. Following a young girl's prayer, a youth meeting in South Africa was filled with the Presence of God, and the young people continued to pray for hours, issuing in the greatest revival during Andrew Murray's ministry. The great Moravian revival of 1727 began in prayer, and so overwhelmed were the people with the Presence of God, they were convicted to pray 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—and this lasted over 100 years, with astounding results around the world. In the 1904 revival in Wales, prayer was deep and crushing in the coal mines, in homes, in barns, along the roads, and in almost every place where people met. In Ulster (1859), more than 100 prayer meetings began instantly, even in graveyards and gravel pits. In New York City (1857), more than 30,000 people gathered daily to pray, and were "filled with the awesome Presence of God." Near the end of a prayer meeting in the city of Arnol, on the Scottish Isle of Lewis (1940s), a local blacksmith cried out: "Lord, Your honor is at stake!" At that moment the house shook and "dishes rattled...as wave after wave of Divine Power swept through the house." When this group of people closed the prayer meeting and went outside, they found the community alive with the Presence of God; it was 5 a.m. in the morning.

Secondly there has to be Powerful, Scriptural Preaching. Powerful preaching is a hallmark of true revival. Concerning a sermon Whitfield preached in Scotland (1742), one present reported: "During the time of divine worship, solemn, profound reverence overspread every countenance. Many cry out in the bitterness of their soul. Some...from the stoutest men, to the most tender child, shake and tremble and a few fall down as dead....when the ...preacher speaks of redeeming Love, and talks of the precious Savior...all seem to breathe after Him...." From my perspective, many preachers in the pulpits today have no clue as to what this type of preaching really is.

Third there is the Agonizing, Uninhibited Confessions. When Holy God draws near in true revival, people come under terrible conviction of sin. The outstanding feature of spiritual awakening has been the profound consciousness of the Presence and holiness of God, "so overwhelming at times that people were afraid to open their mouths lest they utter words that would bring upon them the judgments of God. Sinners, overwhelmed by the Divine Presence, would fall helplessly, crying for mercy." Under the crushing gravity of even the smallest sins, people may be found for hours groaning and in awful distress, weeping bitterly and uncontrollably, sighing and sobbing anxiously and painfully. Entire congregations deal face-to-face with God about their sins, in open brokenness and contrition, with urgent prayers of repentance, pleading to God for mercy. Under deep conviction, missionaries, pastors, elders, and evangelists are found publicly confessing their sins. A missionary in Korea in 1907 wrote: "As the prayer continued, a spirit of heaviness and sorrow for sin came upon the audience. On one side, someone began to weep, and in a moment the whole audience was weeping. Man after man would rise, confess his sins, break down and weep, and then throw himself down on the floor and beat the floor with his fists in perfect agony of conviction." All are painfully (and joyfully) aware that this deep conviction is solely the work of God in their midst, and find great peace and joy in forgiveness.

Fourth there must be Countless, Radical Conversions. During true revival, thousands of lost people are suddenly swept into the Kingdom of God. Scenes of the lost coming to the Savior in great, and unprecedented numbers, are common. In the eastern states, during the revivals of 1858, conversions and baptisms quadrupled. During the Great Awakening in New England in the 1700s, between 25,000 and 30,000 were converted. When God visited Wales in 1859, it is estimated that 110,000 were added to the churches. In Korea between 1906 and 1910 the net gain of all the churches was nearly 80,000.Revival conversions demonstrate the radical act of becoming a new creation in Christ. Crime in awakened communities falls dramatically, sins and worldly pleasures are abandoned, and joyful worship and service to Christ and demonstrable love for one another become the way of life. Of one Parish where Duncan Campbell was used of God in the late 1940s, we read: "Revival had surely come! Campbell conducted four services nightly (for 5 weeks)—at 7 p.m., 10 p.m., midnight, and 3 a.m., returning home between 5 and 6 am.... Simultaneously (with 'desperate praying') the Spirit of God swept through the village. People could not sleep; houses were lit all night; people walked the streets in great conviction; others knelt by their bedsides crying for God to pardon them!.... Within 48 hours the drinking house was closed. Today it is in ruins. Fourteen young men who had been drinking there, were gloriously converted....; within 48 hours nearly every young person between the ages of 12 and 20 had surrendered to Christ, and it was reckoned that every young man between the ages of 18 and 35 could be found in the prayer meetings!"

One might ask, "can we see revival like that again?" We can if and when the conditions are met.

And the lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice....If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land [2Chron. 7:12-14].

Once God's conditions are met, we will again see Revival. Sadly, many "Christians" are kinda hoping that God will get us out of the mess we are in, but what about our loved ones who do not know Christ as Lord and Savior. How can we be willing to leave them behind? When we have exhausted all avenues of telling them about this Savior, than and only than can we truly say "it is a good day to fly!"

'Time for Israel to fall in line with US agenda'

An interesting article from Israel Today is once again proving that the Church could be out of here very soon.

Former US Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk on Wednesday told Israel's Army Radio that the time has come for the Jewish state to fall in line with American foreign policy, or risk ruining its relationship with Washington.

"The shift in America's Middle East interests means that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu must make a choice: Take on the president of the United States, or take on his right wing," said Indyk, who today is Vice President for Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington and remains a top advisor to US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Indyk was referring to Netanyahu's decision on Wednesday to reject Obama's demand that he freeze all Jewish construction in parts of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinians. Obama presumably made the demand when the two leaders met behind closed doors at the White House last month. Netanyahu did agree to a number of other "confidence-building" gestures toward the Palestinians, but insisted that no Israeli leader could ever deny Jews the right to build in their own capital.

Indyk said that kind of attitude is going to do permanent damage to the traditionally-strong Israel-US relationship. The time has come, insisted Indyk, for Israel to choose between its relations with the West and its millennia-old dreams of resettling all of its God-given lands.
Indyk noted that Washington views Israeli settlements as detrimental to US national interests in the Middle East, and Israel's insistence on maintaining those settlements, including Jewish neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem, has resulted in a "serious crisis."

He went on to suggest that Israel is obligated to fall in line with American interests since Israel is the beneficiary of so much US goodwill.

Somehow, we have forgotten what God's Word says about the blessings that a nation will receive from blessing God's people. It seems that our State Department has it backwards. No matter what and how much pressure the US puts on Israel, God is still in control, and His plan and purpose is being worked out in spite of what the US says. I pray that the eyes of our leaders would be opened, although this just shows you that today would be "a good day to fly"

War Or Peace

We are living in the most extraordinary generation since our Lord walked in Jerusalem two thousand years ago. More prophecies have been fulfilled in our lifetime than in all the generations leading up to 1948. On May 15, 1948, Israel officially became a nation and the prophetic clock began ticking inexorably in the final countdown to the Battle of Armageddon and the return of the Messiah to establish His kingdom on earth.

The United Nations and the Arab states continue to call for the elimination of Israel's nuclear weapons. The introduction of nuclear weapons to Iran and the growing possibility of Libya, Syria and Iraq joining the nuclear club has altered the strategic balance. It is difficult to see how a balance of nuclear terror could continue for very long between Israel and the Islamic states who remain dedicated to its destruction. In Islamic religious philosophy they would gain paradise if they died a devastating war to cleanse the "infidels" from Jerusalem.

Several prophecies describe the revival of the Roman Empire in the end times to dominate Europe and the world as it did thousands of years ago in the days of Christ. The rise of the European Community is creating an economic and political superpower that is increasing its involvement in the Middle East. The prophet Daniel wrote that a future Antichrist will arise in the last days to control the revived Roman Empire. Daniel predicted that "He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week." This verse indicates that this future European dictator will confirm a treaty to defend Israel for seven years. The signing of this future treaty will start the final seven-year countdown to Armageddon, the climactic battle when Jesus Christ will defeat the armies of the world to establish His kingdom forever.

We are commanded by God to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalms 122:6). However, this interim peace agreement between the PLO and Israel may set the stage for the fulfillment of these tremendous prophecies leading to Christ's return in our generation. While we would rejoice at the prospects of a true peace in the Middle East we must recognize that the ancient prophets warned that a false peace will set the stage for the final conflict that will end with the Battle of Armageddon. The prophet Jeremiah warned that in the last days men would say "Peace, peace! When there is no peace" (Jeremiah 6:14). Our world will not know true peace until Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace comes. According to the Bible, real peace will only come to the Middle East when Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, changes the hearts of both the Arabs and the Jews.

We are nearing the end of our ntrip to the Holy Land. Please continue to pray for safe travels as we prepare to return home this weekend.

One thing we are attempting with this blog, and the ABI web page, is to promote the books that we have available for those in the ABI class on Tuesday evenings. One of the books is Shadow Government by Grant R. Jeffrey. I spoke to this in Saturday's blog, but in an article on the American Family web site today, is one about a Philadelphia suburban school district secretly capturing at least 56,000 webcam photographs and screen shots from laptops issued to high school students. The Philadelphia Inquirer first reported Monday on the large number of images recovered from school servers by forensic computer experts, who were hired after student Blake Robbins filed suit over the tracking practice.

Robbins still doesn't know why the district deployed the software tracking program on his computer, as he had not reported it lost or stolen, his lawyer said.

The district photographed Robbins 400 times during a 15-day period last fall, sometimes as he slept in bed or was half-dressed, according to his lawyer, Mark Haltzman. Other times, the district captured screen shots of instant messages or video chats the Harriton High School sophomore had with friends, he said.

"Not only was Blake Robbins being spied upon, but every one of the people he was IM chatting with were spied upon," said Haltzman, whose lawsuit alleges wiretap and privacy violations. "They captured pictures of people that have nothing to do with Harriton. Who, you may ask, really wants to control what I do?

When you consider the events of Daniel and Revelation concerning the peroid know as The Tribulation, you begin to understand how the world dictator or ruller (antichrist) will be able to have control over every citizen of the New World Order. The economic condition we are in, the unrest and trouble in every nation, this is setting the stage for him to step up and take over, and the people of the world will submit and let him do it, even the Jew, because God will cause a strong delusion to come over the inhibitants of the world. So now, are you going to be with Christ in Heaven when this takes place, or will you be down here on earth. The choice will be yours.

Netanyahu: Israel can only rely on itself

Interestingly enough, as we are in the Holy Land this week, is a couple of articles in Israel Today.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday reminded his fellow cabinet members that in the midst of Israel's most serious rift with the US in decades, they must remember that Israel can only truly rely on itself. Echoing the words of Zionist philosopher Theodor Herzl in 1901, Netanyahu said, "Don’t rely on help from strangers, don’t trust even the charitable and don’t wish for stones to grow soft, for the charitable give degrading charity at most, and stones do not soften. A nation that wishes to stand tall must place all its trust in itself only."
Netanyahu was addressing the cabinet on the day before Israel's Independence Day, which will begin at sunset on Monday, April 19.

And than another article caught my eye. Israeli army chief Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi firmly stated last week that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) view the Bible as the number one influence on its conduct and mission. "The IDF sees the Bible as a guide in the deep and practical sense of the word," said Ashkenazi. "It is no accident that the IDF swears in its soldiers with a weapon in one hand and the Bible in the other – a custom that reflects the uniqueness of the IDF and the deep bond of the Jewish people to the Book of Books." Ashkenazi made his remarks last Wednesday at the opening of the 47th annual International Bible Quiz for Youth in Jerusalem.

This brought to mind the account of Nehemiah rebuilding the wall and the obstacles that he faced: [Nehemiah 4:15-18 (KJV)] 15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work. 16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah. 17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. 18 For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

What do you think would happen if we in America from the Presidant on down would respond as this passage said that Nehemiah did. He trusted in the "all sufficient one." What about you?

Are We Listening

Have you ever wondered why America has been so blessed. Oh, I know there are those who would not agree with todays blog, but there were those in the days of Israel at the opening of the promise land, after coming out of bondage in Egypt, that didn't believe what Moses was saying either. Read these words in Deuteronomy, chapter 8:

Deuteronomy 8:7-20 (KJV) 7 For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; 9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. 10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. 11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: ... 19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. 20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

We could insert the word America all throughout this scripture passage. What do you think will happen to America if we continue on the path we are on at this moment in time. All we have to do is look at the countrys in Europe to see where we will be.

Have you prayed for our President, our Vice-President, our (your) congressmen and senators, for God's wisdom to be upon them. There is still time to stem the tide, if we will but seek His face. If we don't, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.

With all that is happening, we just might be able to say today, "it is a good day to fly."

Big Brother Is Watching

Luke 21:28 (KJV) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Any serious student of the Bible will understand this verse speaks volumes in the day we live; this verse is what our faith and hope is grounded upon.

Never in our history as a nation, has so many personal freedoms been taken, or are being taken away from us as it is today. Our private lives are being watched, our personal finances are being monitored, places we go are being tracked, our communications are being listened in on, our purchases, yes those you made today in the mall, are being recorded and our preferences and decisions are being archived in permanent computer files.

You might say, "no one has that right," but even as you are reading this blog, someone is watching. And we have no real say so as to who, what, or when they do it.

What we are seeing, is leading up to a "world dictator", who will be in complete control of the world's population. This is part of the prophecy spoken of in the verse just quoted from Lukes Gospel, which, ultimately speaks of the coming antichrist.

This will have a scary effect on most people, but to the believer, this is "the blessed hope and soon glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ." If it were to be today, at this moment, are you ready to meet Him? You can be, just by asking Him to save you from your sin of rejecting Jesus as your Savior by asking Him to come into your heart and give you a new life. He will do it if you ask Him, because He loves you, (John 3:16).

Than, and only than will you be able to say, "it is a good day to fly." See you in the rapture.

National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional

A federal judge in Wisconsin ruled the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional Thursday, saying the day amounts to a call for religious action. U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb wrote that the government can no more enact laws supporting a day of prayer than it can encourage citizens to fast during Ramadan, attend a synagogue or practice magic.

Congress established the day in 1952 and in 1988 set the first Thursday in May as the day for presidents to issue proclamations asking Americans to pray. The Freedom from Religion Organization, a Madison-based group of atheists and agnostics, filed a lawsuit against the federal government in 2008 arguing the day violated the separation of church and state.

The National Day of Prayer has never dictated who or what to pray to, it only acknowledges a time for those who choose to do so.

Slowly, everything that our Nation has stood for is being eroaded away from us, and we are letting it happen. As a Christian, we have a right, and a priveledge to stand for Biblical principles. If we don't, who will.

As we are in Israel this week, please to remember to 'pray for the peace of Jerusalem.' If ever Israel needed an ace-in-the-hole, it needs it now. With the Obama Administration's new Muslim favoring policy and the continued hostile attitude of the European Union toward the State of Israel, Israel has been left hanging in perilous winds without a friend. Today, the whole world is at best negative toward Israel, and at worst outright hostile toward its continued existence as a state. Many who teach prophecy believe the odds of Israel continuing as a state for more than ten more years are next to zero.

Truly, we are living in uncertain and difficult time, all around the world, not just in the US.

The European Union

Another sign of the day we are living in is the EU.

The EU stands as the model of regionalization of sovereign states—a necessary step in the direction of globalization. Although the EU’s roots go back more than 60 years, the EU was officially created in June 1993, when a landmark treaty was signed in the city of Maastricht, Netherlands. The Maastricht Treaty established the basis for a common currency, a common judiciary, a common foreign policy, and a common military.

The European Union continued to expand its influence both politically and economically, emerging as a global power. In fact, Europe’s economy had grown steadily to surpass the GDP (gross domestic product) of the United States. The EU is currently comprised of 27 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Three additional countries are currently in the application for admittance process: Croatia, Macedonia, and Turkey

According to the Europa website, the 19 remaining European countries not included in the EU are: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the Vatican City State.

On December 1, 2009, the Treaty of Lisbon entered into force, thus ending several years of negotiation about institutional issues. The Treaty of Lisbon amended the existing European Union and European Commission treaties without replacing them. It lays the legal framework and tools necessary to “meet future challenges” by creating:
1. A more democratic and transparent Europe;
2. A more efficient Europe;
3. A Europe of rights and values, freedom, solidarity and security;
4. A Europe as an actor on the global stage.

I believe what we are seeing, is the beginning of what the anti-christ will be able to step up to and take over when the Rapture of the Church takes place

Iceland evacuates hundreds as volcano erupts again

Of an interesting note today is this news item.

A volcano under a glacier in Iceland erupted Wednesday for the second time in less than a month, melting ice, spewing smoke and steam, closing a major road and forcing hundreds of people to flee rising floodwaters.Authorities evacuated 800 residents from around the Eyjafjallajokull glacier as rivers rose by up to 10 feet (3 meters).Emergency officials and scientists said the eruption under the ice cap was 10 to 20 times more powerful than one last month, and carried a much greater risk of widespread flooding."This is a very much more violent eruption, because it's interacting with ice and water," said Andy Russell, an expert on glacial flooding at the University of Newcastle in northern England. "It becomes much more explosive, instead of a nice lava flow oozing out of the ground."

More and more, we are realizing that we are very close to the Rapture of the Church. This time before will be marked by Israel being surrounded and left out by itself. This is very evident concerning what our current administration is doing. We have been reminded agian by statments by former New York City mayor Ed Koch.

In an article this week, he said, "I weep as I witness outrageous verbal attacks and distortions on Israel. What makes them all the more painful is that they are being orchestrated by President Barack Obama."

"I weep today because my president, Barack Obama, in a few weeks has changed the relationship between the US and Israel from that of closest of allies to one in which there is an absence of trust. The contrast between how the president and his administration deals with Israel and how it has decided to deal with the Karzai administration in Afghanistan is striking."

He continues, "the Karzai administration, which operates a corrupt and opium-producing state, refuses to change its corrupt ways – the president’s brother is believed by many to run the drug traffic – and shows utter contempt for the US, yet is being hailed by the Obama administration as an ally and publicly treated with dignity. Karzai recently even threatened to join the Taliban if we don’t stop making demands on him.Nevertheless, The New York Times of April 10 reported “...that Mr. Obama had sent Mr. Karzai a thank-you note expressing gratitude to the Afghan leader for dinner in Kabul. ‘It was a respectful letter,’ General Jones said.”On the other hand, our closest ally has been demeaned and slandered, held responsible by the administration for our problems in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East. The plan I suspect is to so weaken the resolve of the Jewish state that it will be much easier to impose an American plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, leaving Israel’s needs for security in the lurch."

Greater Risk of Nuclear War

In listening to and watching the news, and as one studies the Bible, we are very much aware that we are in the last day, and that these, 'signs' are very real. We look at what is happening around the world and see how everything is fitting into place. The day we are living in is one of great expectation for us who are saved, and who are ready to fly when the trumphet is sounded, yet we also know, that it is not very good for our own nation in the direction that we are going. It is as though we have turned our backs on God, just as we can see in Deuternomy where God warns the people what would happen if they turned to other Gods.

Speaking at the Nuclear Security Conference Tuesday, U.S. President Barack Obama told epresentatives of 47 nations that the risk of nuclear war in the world was much higher now than it had been in the past. "Two decades after the end of the Cold War, we face a cruel irony of history - the risk of a nuclear confrontation between nations has gone down but the risk of a nuclear attack has gone up," Obama said, adding that it would be a “worldwide tragedy” if terror groups like Al-Qaida got hold of nuclear weapons.

And on another note, Iran said Tuesday that it expects to join the “world nuclear club” within a month. A report quoted Behzad Soltani, deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, as saying that “No country would even think about attacking Iran after Iran's membership in the club.” A 360 megawatt nuclear power plant that will produce nuclear power is almost finished, he said.

But what really caught my attention was the next statement. Soltani added that Iran would use its nuclear power not just for energy. “Our next step would be expanding use of this technology for purposes other than energy and fuel production so that foodstuff, proteins and vegetables are preserved for a longer time and with a higher quality through radiation," he said.

Now if you truly believe that, I have a piece of 'prime ocean front property' for SALE in Utah.

And I saw this article concerning the temple.

The Temple Institute, engaged in education, research, and development towards the Holy Temple in accordance with Biblical law, recently held its 29th annual Temple Institute Passover Symposium, under the banner of "Integrating Modern Technology into the Holy Temple." Issues discussed included questions such as, “Will massive digital screens allow worshippers to observe the work of the High Priest from a great distance? Will computers be used to keep track of the sacrifices, public and private? Will special impurity-proof buses be used to transport Passover pilgrims and their Paschal offerings?” (IsraelNationalNews.com)

Now I can just imagine what those who are against overheads and power point presentations in worship services, will have to say about this one. I am laughing of course.

We Are Getting Closer

Those who study and watch prophecy realize that each new day could very well be the day that we could fly.

Several news articles caught my attention today.

Who knew the most pro-abortion president in the history of the United States would so effectively obliterate the deceptive front the abortion movement has been able to sustain for nearly 40 years? But hats off to Mr. Obama for a job well done.

If nothing else, Barack Obama and company just accomplished proving something pro-lifers have been fighting to demonstrate for 40 years. The abortion movement has never been about choice. It's never been about privacy. It's never been about personal liberty. It's always been about a macabre obsession with advancing a legal right to kill kids for convenience. That's pure, unadulterated evil.

In another article, a scholar and bestselling author says it will be very difficult to reverse the socialist policies of Barack Obama, even if Republicans take over control of Congress next year.

Dr. Jerome Corsi is author of the 2008 New York Times bestseller The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality (Threshold Editions, August 2008), which was recently released in paperback. He says since taking office, Obama has taken the American government in an ideologically left direction, as he warned about in the book. Corsi says the president is determined to transform the United States into a European-style social welfare state. But he believes Obama's agenda has proven to be enormously unpopular and will cost the Democrats dearly in the upcoming midterm elections. "I'm not sure what it will take to reverse the United States back into a market economy after we're got this much entitlement programs," notes the author. "The social welfare state here is beginning to look like the social welfare state in Greece -- and they're very difficult to reverse." As he puts it, when that happens "people riot in the streets if you try to take away their benefits -- even when the government can't pay for it."

Holocaust could happen again, warns expert
In Israel today, as it does every year on the 27th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, Israel came to a standstill at 10 AM as air raid sirens blared across the country commemorating the senseless massacre of six million Jews in the Nazi Holocaust.

As memorial ceremonies were held at several locations, a prominent Israeli-British historian warned that the slogan "Never Again" is fading, and that there is a very real possibility for a repeat of the Holocaust.

In his new book "A Lethal Obsession: Anti-Semitism from Antiquity to the Global Jihad," Hebrew University Professor Robert Wistrich explains that the politics and social attitudes that gave rise to and allowed the Nazi Holocaust to occur are still very much with us. "We are in an era once again where the Jews are facing genocidal threats as a people," Wistrich said in an interview with Ha'aretz. "We have not been in that situation for quite a while. And maybe this is the first time since the Holocaust that Jews feel that this is palpable." Wistrich also acknowledged the enormous rise in anti-Semitism in Europe in recent years, fueled largely by more brazen Muslim populations there. An annual study done by Tel Aviv University titled "Anti-Semitism Worldwide" revealed that attacks on and harassment of Jews doubled in 2009, especially in Europe and Canada.

In 2008 there were 559 reported incidents of anti-Semitism worldwide. In 2009 that number jumped to 1,129. The UK was the biggest offender, with anti-Semitic incidents there increasing from 112 in 2008 to 374 in 2009. France was close behind, with 50 anti-Semitic incidents in 2008 and 195 in 2009. Canada saw an increase from just 13 anti-Semitic incidents in 2008 to 138 incidents in 2009. The report noted that the enormous jump in just one year can be attributed to the blurring of lines between hatred of Jews as a people and condemnation of Israel as a nation. In other words, and as many Israelis and friends of Israel have warned, anti-Israel sentiment is the new anti-Semitism.

In another note, a top US energy industry expert believes Israel is going to soon experience an "oil and gas rush" by major Western energy development companies. A natural gas field off Israel's Mediterranean coast had drawn the attention of every major Western energy company.
Israeli companies Delek and Isramco have already tapped the natural gas field, together with British energy giant Noble Energy.

That could mean an enormous economic boom for Israel and its transformation overnight into a major international energy exporter.

Is Obama targeting Israel's nuclear program? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided suddenly late last week to not attend this week's US-hosted nuclear arms summit. Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Atomic Affairs Dan Meridor will represent Israel in Netanyahu's stead.

According to Netanyahu's office, the decision was made after learning that Egypt and Turkey intended to turn the summit into an international effort to bring an end to Israel's nuclear program. Without the Israeli leader in attendance, it will be much more difficult to do that.
But Israel's Ma'ariv daily newspaper reported just before the weekend that it may not have been only Egypt and Turkey that planned to ambush Netanyahu.

Scientists at Israel's nuclear reactor in Dimona told the newspaper that for the past several months, they have been unable to obtain visas to enter the US and attend American universities, where in the past they regularly advanced their knowledge in the fields of physics, chemistry and nuclear engineering.

The scientists said the Obama Administration has placed an unofficial embargo on parts and supplies needed for the Dimona reactor.

Is it possible that Obama himself intended to strong-arm Netanyahu into finally signing Israel up to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty? Considering tensions between the two leaders in recent months and Obama's near-outright hostility toward Israel, many in Jerusalem believe that to be the case.

As is the case after a weekend, Monday mornings news headlines again reafirm that we are living in the last day. Along with the headlines of the latest earthquakes that are happening almost daily, the increase in unrest among the nations, the economic hardships, the breaking down of marriages and homes, the lack of being a witness of what God has done in our own lives, truly. it would "be a good day to fly." KEEP LOOKING UP!

An Important Sign

An unmistakable signs of the Last Days is the rebuilding of the temple.

Almost two thousand years ago, after nearly two years of terrible seige, the brutally efficient legions of Rome destroyed Jerusalem and burned the Temple to the ground. Led by General Titus, the son of Emperor Vespasian, the Roman army completed its mission of destruction on the ninth day of Av (August) in A.D. 70.

The glorious temple, built by King Herod, was the second of the sacred temples to stand on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The First Temple had been built by King Solomon approximately 1000 B.C. and was destroyed by the Babylonians in 587 B.C.. The Second Temple that was built by the Jews who returned to Jerusalem following the Babylonian Captivity in 536 B.C. remains in ruins today.

However, exciting developments are taking place in Israel that will result in a Third Temple being built again on the ancient foundations that Solomon put in place nearly three thousand years ago. You and I are part of the prophetic generation that will live to see a Temple of God once again stand in Jerusalem, the spiritual crossroads o the world.

The rebuilding of the Temple has profound prophetic significance equal to the appearance of the Antichrist or the forming of the pagan armies to invade Israel in the coming Battle of Gog and Magog. Many students of biblical prophecy have debated the role that will be played by the Third Temple in end-times developments. But the scriptures make it clear that just before Christ returns, the Third Temple of God must stand once more on its original location on the
Temple Mount.

In his book, Grant R. Jeffrey looks not only at the advancing plans and preparations to rebuild the Temple, but also at closely related developments, such as the training of Levite priests, the discovery of long-lost Temple treasures, developments in locating the Ark of the Covenant and returning it to Jerusalem, and the discovery of ancient vessels and artifacts that are required for Temple sacrifice and worship. With a new Sanhedrin in place, with some five hundred Levites being trained in the requirements of Temple sacrifice, and with lost treasures from Solomon’s Temple being located and returned to Jerusalem, it is no longer just a dream that God’s Temple will once again stand on the Temple Mount.

Coming Apart At The Seams

I came across an interesting article today concerning the internal protection of our country from the forces that would want us done away with.

Al-Qaida can be expected to attempt an attack on the United States in the next three to six months, senior U.S. intelligence officials told Congress Tuesday.The terrorist organization is deploying operatives to the United States to carry out new attacks from inside the country, including "clean" recruits with a negligible trail of terrorist contacts, CIA Director Leon Panetta said.

The chilling warning comes as Christmas Day airline attack suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutullab is cooperating with federal investigators, a federal law enforcement official said Tuesday.Al-Qaida is also inspiring homegrown extremists to trigger violence on their own,

Panetta said.The annual assessment of the nation's terror threats provided no startling new terror trends, but amplified growing concerns since the Christmas Day airline attack in Detroit that militants are growing harder to detect and moving more quickly in their plots."The biggest threat is not so much that we face an attack like 9/11. It is that al-Qaida is adapting its methods in ways that oftentimes make it difficult to detect," Panetta told the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Several senators tangled over whether suspected terrorists should be tried in civilian or military court. At the same time, a group of bipartisan lawmakers introduced legislation that would force the Obama administration to backtrack on its plans to try Sept. 11 defendants in federal court in New York and use military tribunals instead.

And then I am reminded that Rome fell from within. When we see what is happening in our homes and marriages, our schools, our country, you could say that we are "coming apart at the seams." Our only 'hope' is to look up, 'for our redemption is drawing nigh.'

Well, we are coming close to our departure date for our trip to Israel, and walking in the paths of our Lord. Please keep us in your prayers fo safty, and good health of all going. I am hoping to give updates along the way.

Perfectly Fearless Love

As we listen and read about what is happening in the world today, our hearts can be gripped with fear if we are not carful to remenber God's Word. Truly, we are living in days like we have never seen before. What used to be is no more, except God's Word. It is the same yesterday, today and forever; it will never change!

1 John 4:18 says, "There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment (torment). So the one who fears has not reached perfection in love".

Than look at what Romans says, "1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Also through Him, we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, 4 endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:1-5 (HCSB).

Are you gripped with fear over something? Maybe it could be the uncertainity of today. God's love for you could be the answer to overcoming your fear. As a child, did you have a special blanket that gave you a sense of security - you just wanted to hold it close and wrap up in it? The Holy Spirit of God is the believer's warm, loving "security blanket." As John says, "there is no fear in love, for perfect love casts out fear."

Another translation of this verse says, " We have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly." God's perfect love can eliminate all dread fear. It is not our love for Him, but His perfect love for us that will cast out our fears. The question is not "are you brave enough to face your fears?" The question is, "Do you trust His love enough?"

Well, it is another day closer to our departing for Israel next week. So much to do and so little time to do it. Keep us in your prayer, as well for the services here.

Earthquakes In Divers Places

Recent events in Haiti, Chili, New Mexico and Indonesia just this week, have caused many Christians to ask, “Are earthquakes increasing in the way that Jesus said they would in the period leading up to the Tribulation? His words are among the most forthright and unequivocal ever spoken. There can be no mistake about what He said: “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matt. 24:7,8).

In January and February of this year, those who search the Scriptures and watch for His return marked those words well, wondering with renewed interest whether His coming was being foreshadowed by the prophesied global events.

During the week of March 1st through 7th, there were 85 earthquakes inIt was truly a globe-shaking event. Seismologists who measured it, say that it may have shortened the length of Earth’s day by 1.26 microseconds. They also calculated a change in the Earth’s axis of rotation,
which they say moved by 8 centimeters (3.25 inches)! Ae we think bout this we are reminded of the words of Isaiah the prophet, when he wrote about the massive earthquakes in the coming
Tribulation:

“The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.“The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth” (Is. 24:19-21).

As I was reading Joel Rosenburg;s Weblog that morning, this article fits right into our discussion last night in the ABI Class. I thought it might be of interest to you as well.

This morning I woke up to read an AP story about the White House decision “to remove terms such as ‘Islamic radicalism’ from a document outlining national security strategy.” It never ceases to amaze me how many in Washington don’t understand the threat of Radical Islam to the U.S., much less the Biblical command to bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus. But I believe the Church must.

President Barack Obama's advisers plan to remove terms such as "Islamic radicalism" from a document outlining national security strategy and will use the new version to emphasize that the U.S. does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terrorism, counterterrorism officials say.
The change would be a significant shift in the National Security Strategy, a document that previously outlined the Bush Doctrine of preventive war. It currently states, "The struggle against militant Islamic radicalism is the great ideological conflict of the early years of the 21st century."
The officials described the changes on condition of anonymity because the document is still being written and is unlikely to be released for weeks, and the White House would not discuss it. But rewriting the strategy document is the latest example of Obama putting his stamp on U.S. foreign policy, as with his promises to dismantle nuclear weapons and limit the situations in which they can be used.
The revisions are part of a larger effort about which the White House talks openly, one that seeks to change not just how the U.S. talks to Muslim nations, but also what it talks to them about, from health care and science to business startups and education.
That shift away from terrorism has been building for a year, since Obama went to Cairo and promised a "new beginning" in the relationship between the U.S. and the Muslim world.

ABI Class Update

ABI Class April 6, 2010 Fifty three were in attendance tonight for our prophecy class. Thanks to all those who cooked and brought food for tonight's class.

As we consider all that is going on in the world today, it would "be a good day to fly".

Before the class began, we heard of an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 has rattled northern Sumatra in Indonesia. The quake struck at 2215 GMT (5:15 a.m. local time) and was 205 kilometers (125 miles) northwest of Sibolga, in Sumatra, Indonesia and 1,425 kilometers (880 miles) northwest of Jakarta. A tsunami watch was issued for the region.

And than we were reminded of the mining disaster in West Virginia, where at this posting, there were 25 who had lost their lives.

We will not be having class next week, April 13th and April 20th, but watch this blog, your e-mail, and "Could Fly Today" web site.

Pray for those in our Church Family and for the trip to Israel next week.

ABI Update

This semester of ABI came to a close tonight, November 17. I would like to express my thanks to all you prayed for my recovery. It appears I am well because I can eat just about anything with out it making me sick. Praise the Lord!!

The class participation was record setting for the entire semester. PTL! I am planning to do some podcasting, emails, and video studies on specific topics. I hope this will be helpful for those who are studying prophecy for the first time. I will post the instructions in the near future. Thanks again for your prayers.

ABI Class Update

Praise the Lord! September has been one of the best months in ABI's history. Our attendance has been record setting each week, the fellowship has been fantastic, your questions have been insightful, and I can hardly wait to see what God has in store for us in October!

I want to ask that we all continue to pray for Lindsey's quick recovery. When she is out she is missed, and it will be great to have her back real soon. A great big thanks must go out to Charley Kay and Wanda Vanderwall for their sacrificial service. Tuesday, I believe they were the last to leave.

I am afraid that I have not expressed our appreciation for the Hickmans as much as I should, but they are hard to recognize. Both, Nora and Greg along with Lindsey go out of their way to remain in the background. But, Tuesday we realized how much we miss them when they are out. Now, I know I am going to be rebuke for calling attention to them, but I will gladly accept my scolding!

Greg, Nora, and Lindsey we really, really appreciate all that you do, and our Lord Jesus has a special reward for your faithful service in His kingdom! Amen!

Fall Semester 09

Today, studying prophecy is like trying to drink from a fire hose! New insights into key Biblical events have been requiring a lot of study time. Those who major on the sensational have a lot to write about, but I want to make sure I have a solid basis in Scripture before I come to a conclusion. Therefore, this semester should prove to be most meaningful.

This has been another interesting news day.

The up-coming elections in Iran will be interesting.
Many are wondering if Bibi will endorse Obama's two state solution when he makes his speech next week.
Many Israeli's are questioning the Obama administrations true intentions.
North Korea continues to test their ballistic missiles.
The war in Afghanistan continues to spell over into Pakistan.
WHO has declared Swine Flu a worldwide pandemic.
China has become a major player in the world financial markets.

We are witnessing the rewriting of history. Life will be either better or bitter, but I am certain they will not be the same. I see things getting better, because I am listening for the sound of the trumpet and the cry of the Archangel Gabriel. It time we look up, for it is a good day to fly!

Prophecy Update

Prophecy Update
First: I am asking you to pray that God will bless our out-reach during Bike Week! As of today it has been a rather slow start, but traffic is picking up and it is expected to do so during the remainder of the week. Thursday through Sunday is expected to be real busy.

Second: Hal Lindsey has redone his website, and he has added a new video feature that I highly recommend that you visit. He could not be clearer in declaring his belief that we are on the verge of witnessing something big. We could fly today!

Here are some items that I am studying:
1. The Pope's visit to the Middle East to launch his peace plan is creating more tension than unity.
2. The pressure the world, including the US, is placing on Israel to accept the two state solution is unimaginable.
3. The Obama Administration has cut off Middle East Intelligence to Israel.
4. Israel has been threatened: if they do not comply with the Palestinians there will be war!
5. The Iranians will soon have a nuclear bomb! What will Israel do and will be support or oppose?
6. Do we have the will to win the war in Afghanistan?
7. What does the future hold in Pakistan? Who will control their nuclear bombs?
8. The social revolution that is occurring throughout the country to legalize same sex marriage is proceeding at an unimaginable pace.
9. The 2010 Census that has already begun is identifying each residence with a GPS signal. Why? What’s that all about?
10. H1N1 flu is spreading faster than WHO can count. We are fortunate that it is spreading in a milder form. But, we are warned that it will probably mutate and during fly season become deadlier. We are not out of the woods yet!
11. What impact will the Obama Administrations proposed health care changes have on us? Do we really want socialized medicine?
12. The economic revolution we are undergoing to accept socialism has proceeded at a pace that a few years ago would have been impossible. The advocates of socialism have drowned out the voices of free enterprise.
13. What happened to the stimulus money? If, we were in such a crisis why have they only spent 4 percent of it?
14. When will the stimulus spending help real estate and the construction industries?
15. Today, General Motors stock is the lowest it has been since 1933.
16. The new budget projections reveal a greater deficit than first announced, but the spending continues. Where is it going?
17. Social Security projections for the next twenty years are under funded.
I realize that my above thoughts are a bit unorganized, and if you only focus on one of them you might not see what I see. Some organization or someone is reshaping our world. In fact, we were told that is the intention of the current administration.

Pastor has still not noticed anything different about his blog, I just called him and he said that he didn't even look at it yet, so the competition is still on!

I have hijacked Preacher's blog, as you can tell.Now we are going to play a game and see how long it takes him to notice. Our last class

The Advanced Bible Institute's last class will be tomorrow night at 6:30. We have had a wonderful year, with great participation. I hope that you have learned something from class this year, and I also hope that you enjoyed yourself. Tomorrow we will be having our 3rd annual steak dinner, so I hope that you will be able to come, enjoy yourself, and have one last lesson, that is, until August. We will have some big topics to discuss tomorrow, and I know a great, insightful lesson in prophecy. I hope that everyone that came this year to class will be back in August for some fresh, exciting classes on prophecy and the always interesting news. Just because our meetings will be over doesn't mean you still can't get your ABI fix, I will be relaunching the website with some new lessons, pictures, videos, and more over the Summer, so check every once in a while at abiclass.com.

Thinking Out Loud

First, I want to thank the Hickman Family for the work they put into the ABI Class. especially, "Little Lindsey". They sure have been a blessings. Lindsey has reworked our website, and she is encouraging everyone to bring a friend this Tuesday. She wants to see the class go over 100 in attendance. I just want to give them a great big thank you!

Now, It appears to me that the new administration is taking this opportunity to push forward an extremely aggressive liberal agenda, which will have an impact on all facets of public life. Ronald Reagan promoted an agenda that revolved around small government, where as, the current administration is 180 degrees in the other directions.

I would like to remind anyone who will listen that agencies that are controlled by governmental agencies do not have the best of track records. I would call to your attention agencies, such as, the Post Office, Social Security, VA Hospitals, and FEMA in New Orleans are government at its worst or best.

Now, I want you to consider how things are going to work with our banks, medical, and other national needs being regulated by "big government". In the near future people are going to be asking, "How did this happen?" During the campain we were warned that the new administration was going to bring a change.

In each interview the talking heads are quick to point out that they won, because the American public wanted a change. Remember Joe the Plummer! He raised the socialism question, taking money from those who have money and giving it to those who do not. Each person who support, "Change We Can Believe In", now, you see what it looks like.

In the past 30 days our government has been redefined! All of the stimulus has strings attached that erode state rights for those who recieve it. It appears to me that the current financial crisis is a Trojan Horse which is being used to enable the adoptions of the agenda of the far left. There has been little if any debate in the public arena. Further more, we are lead to believe this is all for our good.

It makes you wonder if those who are moderate are not concerned that the dramatic changes that have been forced on us could cause the demise of our great country? Now, I am thinking out loud. It makes one wonder what else they might have up their sleeve.

When I get a little more time I plan to go into more depth concerning living in a regulated society. It needs to be stated that godless communism has more religious liberty that we do. The difference is the communist regulate.

We need to think about the freedoms we are sacrificing. Our founding fathers made sacrifices for freedom. Now, we are sacrificing freedoms for what?

ABI Class Update 2-4-09

Last night's class was real blessing. There was a sweet spirit and the attendance was close to a record. I want to extend a special welcome to all who were first timers.

If you were not able to attend we missed you and its our prayer that you will be able to attend on the 17th, because we will not meet on the 10th. It would be greatly appreciated if you will pass the word that we will not meet next Tuesday.

Last night's study focused on the rebirth of Israel. Luke 21:
29 - And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 - When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 - So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 - Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 - Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

If you do a search for maps prior to World War I you will not find a number of the countries that are now located in the Middle East. When the Ottoman Empire aliened with the Germany, and when Germany lost the war the empire was broken up and occupied by the opposing powers. Great Britain received the territory that we refer to as the Holy Land.

Our study was an in-depth study of Israel, the fig tree, and these surrounding Arab nations, trees. I plan to continue this study on the 17th. I hope to see you then.

January 3rd Update

Israel has entered Gaza with thousands of troops, tanks, and air support! It remains to be seen if the Iran's will encourage Hezbollah to attack from the North creating a second front. Of course, Syria has been supportive of both Hamas and Hezbollah, and they have never entered into a peace with Israel. Behind the scenes Russia has supplied arms and support to virtually all of Israel's enemies.

I found it interesting that the recent report that Russia was providing Saddam Hussein with intelligence up until the invasion of Iraqi proved their anti-America sentiments. According to Ezekiel 38 & 39 Russia is an endtime player against Israel.

It also appears that Israel wanted to resolve their terrorist problems with Hamas before the new administration takes office.

What is next? Oh, there was a major earthquake in Indonesia today.

With so many unanswered questions and uncertainty facing this new year; a reasonable person with a little Bible knowledge could certainly conclude that this could be a good day to fly!
