It has taken me several hours just to go through four or five news sources in preparation for the ABI Class tonight. Certainly, we are living living in changing times. Some of the headlines that caught my attention will be discussed tonight.

1. California Devastating Quake Within 30 Years
2. Food Costs Rising Fastest in 17 Years
3. Riots, Instability Spread As Food Prices Skyrocket
4. Oil Rises to Intraday Record Above $112
5. Chain Store Foreclosures Are Up
6. Volcano Erupts in Colombia

These headlines do not directly involve the Middle East, but they do provoke my interest. Any one of these headlines could lead to major happenings:

2. Economics
3. Food & Fuel
