January 28th Update

Jerusalem is expecting two days of snow beginning Tuesday Night. Arrangements are being made to place the homeless in hotels. This cold front is pounding the Middle East, and I don't need to point out that this is rather rare.

The destruction of the wall allowing the occupants of Gaza into Egypt appears to have been permitted for more than a humanitarian need. Time will only tell what Egypt has allow to be brought back into Gaza. But, logic tells me that it is more than bread and milk.

Bird Flu is creating a crisis in India, because many who own poultry have hidden them for the following reasons:
1. They feel they are not being properly compensated.
2. They have ducks and chickens as pets.
3. They have not been properly informed concerning Bird Flu.
  • These conditions could lead to a perfect health storm. The weather also has not been helpful. Health officials fear that these conditions could provide the breeding ground that could enable the virus to complete the final mutations leading to a pandemic.

The West coast is being pounding with severe weather while the Mid-west is preparing for floods. Weather is providing an interesting insight into prophecy.

Matthew 16

2 - He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

3 - And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Will Israel Surrender Jerusalem?

The miracles surrounding the rebirth of Israel are without equal in all of world history. Israel defied all odds in 1948 from the vote of the United Nations to surviving the onslaught of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan plus volunteers from other Islamic countries.

A quick study of the facts should prove to anyone with an open mind that Israel had to have had divine help to survive. This was only the beginning, because everyday since they have lived with extreme opposition. For them to exist everyday is a miracle!

The Six Day War led to the unification of Samaria, Judea, and Jerusalem. Again, in 1973, they were victorious when they faced a Pearl Harbor attack without any provocation.

Is it God's will for Israel to surrender that which God has enabled them to control? Will this surrender bring peace? Is God pleased?

For Such A Time As This

In the Book of Esther we learn of the conspiracy to exterminate the Jews. Haman released his evil plan. But, Mordecai, God's prophet, believed that God would somehow save the Jewish nation, whether through Queen Esther or otherwise.

Esther 4:13 - Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. 14 - For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Are we witnessing the rise of modern Hamans? Israel is surrounded by those who seek her destruction. Is it not time to hear from a current Mordecai and Queen Esther?

President Bush is on his way to the Middle East to lobby for the lastest peace efforts. But, at the same time killer storms are marching across the mid section of the US.

Are these historic storms related to the pressure placed on Israel to give up land and divide Jerusalem for the hope of peace?

We should all just look up in a time such as this!

The Day After Christimas

Luke 2
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

The day after Christmas sure stirs up a lot of memories. All of the prechristmas activities seem so to be so distant. The gifts have all been exchanged leaving a mountain of trash. The kitchen is full of left over food. The sounds of excitement and laughter have been replaced with a awkward silence.
